Re: Hull up nest
If any Superleague club cannot field a team because players have Covid then the game should be 2 points for their opponents. They have a squad which can cover the 6 players so put the young lads in instead. Players that dont test positive should be allowed to play otherwise this season will be a joke. For 6 players to have it means they have not been sticking to the rules. I dont know anyone who's had it so for 6 players and 2 staff to have it is very dodgy. Sure it will all come out at some point about how all these people have caught Covid.Would imagine Albert Kelly will be one of them after seeing some of his past facebook videos

Re: Hull up nest
To be honest, I’m not surprised in the slightest.
I’ve seen so many photos that players have put in social media themselves where they are clearly not maintaining social distancing. You’d bet Albert Kelly is one of those who have tested positive.
However, some Cas players have posted photos of themselves with friends etc literally with their arms around each other and sitting at the same tables in restaurants.
It’s crazy. The players either don’t understand the protocols or they don’t think they apply to them.
The re-start was always going to reply on the professionalism of the players. Unfortunately, that professionalism just isn’t there in RL.

Can’t we play HKR this weekend they have a free weekend
What’s stopping that happening.
Other wise we are gonna have a massive back log.

Re: Hull up nest
Also if they are going to continue the season they should think about rescheduling so that this weekend Cas play the team who was getting a week off( not sure who that is)
Re: Hull up nest
Cas simply play the 11th team KR and play FC when the KR game was scheduled. Makes better sens e than playing the same team twice anyway .
Re: Hull up nest
we could be three weeks with out a game now with us suppose to play Toronto after the two hull games .If loads off Salford players tested positive as well could be looking full cancel off season.

Re: Hull up nest
According to the track and trace guidance:
Hull players will need to self-isolate for 14 days since they came into contact with a player who has tested positive. You’d guess that will be 14 days from 9th August, so no games for them until 23rd August at the earliest.
Same with the Salford players. You’d think that most (if not all) have had physical contact with one of the 5 players who played in the game and have now tested positive. That’s them out of action until the 23rd August too.
Even if other tests come up negative, the Salford and Hull players will still have to isolate for 14 days.

Re: Hull up nest
Apparently rugby *spit union begins this weekend.
One stipulation I’ve just read, if any player does not follow guide lines and gets Covid, whoever that team are playing, they will be announced as winners by 20 0. They don’t mess about.

Re: Hull up nest
Hull should have to forfeit their next 2 games. It’s ridiculous - players obviously not following protocols so they pay the price, simple. The club shouldn’t be paying the players that tested positive either.

Re: Hull up nest
also what’s the point in paying for tests when players disregard the guidelines. Because someone surely as. One or two, you could be just unlucky, but 6 players and 2 other staff.derbystiger wrote: ↑12 Aug 2020, 00:11 Hull should have to forfeit their next 2 games. Re: Hull up nest
What guidelines have been broken? They could have picked it up anywhere. In a cafe or a pub. Are there restrictions stopping players from eating out or avoiding public spaces? In practical terms they should but I don't think SL has such prohibitive rules. One player could have passed it on to the 5 others, particularly if asymptomatic.
There's no evidence to suggest anyone has broken any rules

Re: Hull up nest
As for the game, they are out of training but for me the simple thing to me is to get the rest of the squad tested and if they are all clear on Thurs/Fri at the next round, Hull play minus the 5 players. Our game is Sunday, so enough time to check and for symptoms to show.
Same for Salford, only their squad will have been exposed but they should know by Friday whether any players have it or not.

Re: Hull up nest
Well that might be it for this season. Can't see them letting the game continue now. Cracks are starting to appear.
Re: Hull up nest
it only takes one to get it . Supermarket / wife / partners all still working coming into contact with people . Once one gets it a close contact team sport is ideal for easy spread .old cas lass wrote: ↑12 Aug 2020, 00:38also what’s the point in paying for tests when players disregard the guidelines.
