Hoping for a better performance with players back.
Can’t play any worse, can we.

Like to see feki Come in and make his super league debut. Both wingers yesterday had a poor game. He as to start.

Team for next week if players are back should be:

Hodgson
Feki
Peanut (if not banned)
Shenton
Olpherts/Eden
Trueman
Richardson
Watts
McShane
Griffin
Holmes
Blair
Massey

Smith
Milner
Millington
Foster/mcmeeken/cook

I might of forgot someone but something like that looks much stronger. Since Jesse has come over he’s seemed to have gone backwards he just doesn’t bust those tackles he used to, maybe a couple of weeks off to build fitness will help him.

The optimistic me:
Hull are the team who will struggle most with the new pace of the game. They went for size in terms of recruitment (Satae, Ma’u, Sao, Fonua, Jones) added to a squad already built on size rather than pace (Taylor, Griffin, Matono, Faraimo). That’s going to make it hard for them.
We should have Watts back. Shenton might be the official captain, but Watts is the real leader of our team. He’ll make a massive difference.
Yesterday should have served as a wake up call for every player. They will want to put that performance right.
It is rare for us to lose consecutive games, Powell is very good at turning things around after a defeat.

The pessimistic me:
We don’t have a good option at full-back. Eden is awful, Hodgson is a young kid and Turner has never looked anywhere near good enough when he had been given the chance. We’ll be playing against one of the best kickers in the game in Sneyd and he’ll make it a nightmare for whoever plays at full-back.
We’ll probably still be missing players. Mata’utia will be banned, so Blair will come in at centre, if he’s fit. God knows who will play there if he isn’t fit. Maybe McMeeken can have a go in the centres - he doesn’t want to carry the ball like a forward, so perhaps he can play a bit further out wide and be equally as anonymous.
We’re low on confidence, low on players and, at the moment, low on ability. That’s not a good combination.

Powell decided Eden was going to be full-back can't see him changing after one week

Won't sinbinning of Matautia mean he will escape a ban?
Need Watts and Feki next week. I hear Moors is close but as many have said, will he be just a passenger now?

No... Pete can Still be banned as it was a dangerous tackle. Add to that the shoulder charge too.... I can see a ban coming for sure. Maybe 2 weeks.

And with him already being banned for 2 games already this season, he could also pick up an extra game on top of any ban. He could very well be looking at 2 for the tackle, 1 for the shoulder charge and 1 for already having a 2+ game ban. Which if so, is fully deserved for his head loss.

Banned in a game that no longer exists in the history books as well....

Will certainly be off.
Players with it will need a weeks isolation.
Others 2 weeks. Well that was the protocol a week or 2 back.

If any Superleague club cannot field a team because players have Covid then the game should be 2 points for their opponents. They have a squad which can cover the 6 players so put the young lads in instead. Players that dont test positive should be allowed to play otherwise this season will be a joke. For 6 players to have it means they have not been sticking to the rules. I dont know anyone who's had it so for 6 players and 2 staff to have it is very dodgy. Sure it will all come out at some point about how all these people have caught Covid.Would imagine Albert Kelly will be one of them after seeing some of his past facebook videos

To be honest, I’m not surprised in the slightest.
I’ve seen so many photos that players have put in social media themselves where they are clearly not maintaining social distancing. You’d bet Albert Kelly is one of those who have tested positive.
However, some Cas players have posted photos of themselves with friends etc literally with their arms around each other and sitting at the same tables in restaurants.
It’s crazy. The players either don’t understand the protocols or they don’t think they apply to them.
The re-start was always going to reply on the professionalism of the players. Unfortunately, that professionalism just isn’t there in RL.
