the problem I see, is that if the club has to restrict spectators due to the COVID issue, then we very likely won't be playing in Cas... we'll be at sheddingley, possibly - as that's the nearest ground to us that satisfies the requirements regarding matchday setup in the current climate.

By the time we get to play at home - we'll probably be back to BAU.

Yes great effort that
From the start of the season being suspended Carter as let every Wakefield supporter know just where there at with everything you may not agree with all he says but to keep the supporters in the loop on almost a daily basis during these awful times is a credit to him

The bit that stands out for me in the Wakefield piece is "96% of season tickets holders don't want a refund". Maybe Jinger can clarify this for me. We (Tigers) are looking at a 3rd option of no refund for this season and a discount on next years ST. Are the 96% of Wakey's ST holders saying they don't want any discount whatsoever?

We might be looking at 3 options:-

A) No refund for 2020
B) Refund on games not attended in 2020
C) No refund for 2020 but discount on 2021 ST price.

Myself, I would probably go for option C.

In a similar scenario at Wakefield Trinity where ST holders have an option A and B (no option C) - are 96% saying option A? If so - that is a phenominal response! I didn't realise they were that flush with cash over 't common. :D

Below is a message from our CEO, Michael Carter, which includes a Form for our 2020 Season Card Holders to complete!

After the fantastic response we have had, which has seen over 96% of season ticket holders say that they would not want any refund, and wish the Club to retain any monies to help plot its path through this crisis, I would like to now inform you of the next step that needs to be taken.

We would like you to submit the following form giving your details (so that we can check our database is correct) and also ticking the box that says that you want to donate any unused monies back to the Club. This then allows us to claim back any relevant VAT which will also help financially. The form takes less than two minutes to complete. (If you do not wish to donate any unused monies back to the club, then you can ignore this form).

In return for your kindness, I pledge the following to you:
There will be a price freeze on your season card for 2021.
Any junior ticket holder that would not have qualified for a junior ticket next year, WILL now be eligible to purchase a junior pass for 2021 at the current price for juniors.
We will give you 2 lines in our Club 1873 Lottery each week for a year. This is worth £104 and gives you the chance every week to win the cost of your season ticket back plus many other prizes.
We will also give you a £10 retail voucher to be spent in our Retail shop in November and December on our brand new Kit Supplier’s merchandise which is being launched then.
You will also receive a special one-off polo shirt mentioning every members name that contributes showing that you did your bit to help survive the Corona Pandemic.
And of course, an access code to watch all our behind closed doors games via OurLeague will be available.
For all those that complete the form before Sunday 9th August there will be a draw for a special prize, courtesy of the Board.

Trinity fan in peace, hope things work out for you all, looking forward to seeing our games together.

Surprised no one picked up in this after all the moaning about a lack of information from the club...

Anyone any idea when next year's are on sale? I've donated this year's so does the direct debit just resume at some point? I know we're keeping this year's cards.

It’s possible that a lot of clubs may not be able to sell season tickets until the very last minute, if at all. Trinity CEO, points out the problem for clubs such as Trinity.

Taken from tomorrow’s league express
Super League clubs could hit serious financial trouble before the start of next season if a plan to sell season tickets is not formulated, according to Wakefield chief executive Michael Carter, who believes the Government must put its trust in the sport to safely allow fans back into venues.

With further uncertainty about when supporters could return to live events after planned pilots for this week were halted by the Government, there is now a real possibility that no fans will watch Rugby League live until 2021.

And Carter, who insists Wakefield are well-prepared to make it through 2020, told League Express he worries how clubs will cope if they cannot promise a full season ticket to supporters for 2021, thus making them harder to sell and causing further income issues.

When asked how soon he felt it would be before clubs encountered serious financial implications, Carter said: “I think without further interventions, it could be before the start of the season.

“For a lot of clubs, season ticket money over the off-season is a massive thing. With the interventions we’ve had this year, there’s probably a way of getting over the line in 2020.

“But that money will run out pretty quickly and it’s not looking great for fans, so we’ve got to find a way where even for just 5,000 fans to get in to the bigger grounds. The government are going to have to trust us.”

On Wakefield’s own financial situation, Carter said: “The big thing for me is that this year, I’d never planned on crowds; we were hopeful but weren’t banking on crowds.

“The big thing on the horizon is how do I sell a season ticket? There’s no firm date of when anyone is going to use that ticket and, while I’m completely thankful that our hardcore fans donated their unused season-ticket money back, I wouldn’t expect them to do it next year – that’s the real big challenge.”

Carter has suggested Super League could introduce a competition-wide approach to sell season tickets to fans as one possible solution.

He said: “The thought is that we’ve got a World Cup at the end of next year, so we’re looking at a challenging calendar.

“You can reduce games, but you then reduce season ticket money, and it’s a difficult circle to square up. There’s lots of different factors at play. Could clubs do something together to make it work? Perhaps, but we need to think about how we survive this.”

Sell season tickets, plan for a later season start in March. Plan for a shorter condensed season like this one of 11 home games (assuming Toronto reinstated).

Offer a 3 game bolt on mid-year at ST price cost if we can fit in more games and have a full season.

Seems fairly simple to me on what clubs need to do. We anticipate this latest situation is a worst case scenario of 6 months, which takes us to March anyway.

There are no guarantees as to when and how Covid will best be managed.
Sad fact may be that we have to learn to live with it.
With unemployment rising purchasing Season Tickets will slip down people's priorities
It seems quite clear people are looking at ways to get round reducing social interactions.
This being the case the pain may go on much longer than anticipated
I think reverting to a winter season may be worth considering if Sky who after all run the sport are amenable.
Have to say other than Odsall in January l quite enjoyed winter rugby.

Carter's spot on all clubs were right to give season ticket holders option of what to do with there 2020 ticket most across all clubs didn't ask for there money back
Its a different matter to try and sell 2021 tickets given the current landscape I don't believe mass crowds will be allowed back until well into next year and that's being optimistic

The minister who was on the Andrew Marr programme yesterday said the premier league clubs will have to bail out all the EFL clubs but a package was being drawn up to try and stop other sporting clubs going under I know rugby league as all ready had 16 million but it's going to need more help in my opinion to save clubs from going under
