They might well have games at Cas October time have to wait and see
I agree the full-back spot is the only concern for me with Rankin gone as to wether we can win a trophy when the fun starts again

I’d rather Featherstone be in SL than Toronto. Massive increase in revenue if we played Featherstone at home versus when we play Toronto
Off-set by the increase in RFL fines.

Conversely, it could be argued that this will be the fairest season for a long time.
Everyone will play every other team twice. None of this rubbish with extra loop fixtures and and extra game for Magic weekend. Our ‘normal’ fixture list in inherently unfair as teams play two games against some teams and three games against other teams.
When I explain how the fixtures work the non-RL supporters, they can’t believe we run such an unfair system. Imagine telling a supporter of a football team that they have to play Liverpool three times a season, but only play two games against Norwich.

Have a look what I said in the Evalds section about the fee.

I presume Cas will make some announcements re signings and transfers before players come together to commence group training and with that being imminent will we hear anything next week?

Standby my though that Evalds won’t transfer early. No one with a business mind would pay a fee for a player they’d be getting for free come November and Especially with the season being fragile once we do get started and money been tighter than ever. Tony

Also offset by the money that Toronto don't take from Sky

'I wonder where Escare is going for his 4 month unpaid holiday! Salford can't afford to pay him if the are paying Evalds. Where's the business sense in that?

I did pal. But here is what you posted on Wednesday 17th June:

Yep will be next week, be patient
That is a very definitive post that the signing of Evalds would be announced this week.

There’s another 30 hours for you to be proved to be correct. Granted, you then moved the goalposts, saying Salford were haggling over the fee, but not before you’d also posted that they were “crossing the T and dotting the I add you type”.

As I’ve said, I think we will sign Evalds before three end of the season but, like TonyM says, we should pay over the odds for a player we could get for free for next season and beyond.

What is like to know is why you were so adamant that it’d be done this week??

I’m not too sure. The best way to alleviate some of the impact of Covid would be to make it to the cup final or grand final (or both). This would be a massive financial boost for the club going into 2021 when Sky money decreases.
Evalds at full-back would give us a much better chance of making a big final, and therefore a small fee to bring him in early might well be financially worthwhile.

Maybe he decided to stay at Salford :hand:

Maybe, but I can’t imagine it after the club tried to vilify him for leaving at the end of his contract.
