He'll be in awkward territory contractually if that's the case.

What’s his new venture? Didn’t think selling houses was an injury risk?!

Indeed. He’s a full-time employee of the club. If he’s working elsewhere (without the club’s permission) and that job makes him unable to fulfil his employment with the club, he’ll be lucky to get paid.
I’m not suggesting we do down that route, as we don’t really want to lose the best prop in super league.

Damn shame that, he was in some good form before lock down. The 2 games you need a player of Wattsy's calibre is against Catalan and Hull to go up against their big packs. Unfortunately we've lost our enforcer for both and then some.

Sorry but absolutely pathetic , pro rugby player cuffing his arm with a jig saw and needing stitches and surgery is just so unprofessional. Imagine Mo Salah in football missing a month and needing surgery because he decided to tile his bathroom himself and cut his arm open on a Tile , no you cou don’t because rugby is so unprofessional

Not a good comparison.
Multi millionaires pay people.to do eerything.
I could however imagine a footballer having a month off with a damaged ego.!

I think it’s quite a reasonable post. Especially as Cas RL only ones to lose out.

All we need now is for it to get infected.

Sounds like the kid is lucky not to have lost an arm IAF if it’s as bad as needing surgery and time out.

Will Powell be happy? No. Why? Because it is unprofessional. Deserves a fine IMO.

Can just imagine it being referred to on Sky.

Great look for our club and the professionalism of RL in general.

He’d have been better off being economical with the truth and done it falling somewhere.

Thats exactly what they're saying, ridiculous. It was an accident, things like this could happen while doing any DIY jobs. ya cant just say you're a professional sports player so you shouldn't use power tools.

Depends on the circumstances really.
Accidents happen. As long as he hasn’t been reckless, it’s just one of those things.
The comparison with footballers is a bit unfair too. There have been plenty of footballers suffer accidental injuries away from the sport - usually dropping stuff on their toes. Wasn’t someone out quite recently after dropping a jar of salad cream on his foot, and another dislocated his shoulder moving an ironing board?
If he’s been injured because he is holding down another job without the clubs permission, that’s different as he shouldn’t be doing so. If he has injured himself through recklessness and stupidity, again questions should be asked. But if he’s just been unlucky, there isn’t much we can do but shake our heads at our bad luck.

Think we need and old git moaning section on here.

Obviously an accident. Plenty of players are preparing for the next section of their life. Many people do DIY which could impact their job, obviously most of the time it's not an issue at all.

Honestly can't believe the stupidity of some of these posts saying he should be fined. Or has been unprofessional lol
