Re: Evalds
A great signing. Perfect for Powell's style. Young still and able to be developed into a Dorn/Hardaker hybrid. Sets a promising young spine of pivots.
Solves the issue we have had for 3 years, even though Rankin has played pretty well this season, he does not fit the mould for my liking. I hear he was asking fairly hefty ransom too so this has worked out superbly. He is only on loan and so will either return there or be shipped elsewhere.
I wonder if the Wells knockers will give him any credit for this bit of business :-k Top target acquired, major team need addressed. Possibly best English full back in the competition. Certainly in the discussion.
After speaking to others it is implied one year deal is initial set up until 3 or possibly more players future's are finalised- Mcmeeken, Moors and JSL potentially all on their way.
Well done Cas. COYF

Re: Evalds
Wants to be back in Lancashire, claims he's not settled well and not enjoying having to travel up and down to Hull every other day. Apparently Warrington bound with Ben Currie going to Wigan or Saints.flood light tiger wrote: ↑11 May 2020, 11:06 I would go for josh Jones as well apparently wanting to be released from Hull contract

I think Wire will get Jones and retain Currie, especially with BMM returning Down under next season.heritage1926 wrote: ↑11 May 2020, 11:29Wants to be back in Lancashire, claims he's not settled well and not enjoying having to travel up and down to Hull every other day. Re: Evalds
McMeeken Moors and JSL - id much prefer being In the position of having to replace these 3 than for example full back scrum half and hooker...
We will without doubt pick up 2 overseas players with of excellent pedrigree in terms of skillset, and McMeeken’s money could potentially cover a very good second rower and a project signing.
Need to wring as much change out of the deals as possible and come up smelling of roses again.
We’re in a good place if we’ve got Niall and the futures of JSL and Junior are the only thing we’re waiting on.

Junior was never going to be with us after 2021 anyway, he'll be 35 by then.Mysterio wrote: ↑11 May 2020, 11:47 McMeeken Moors and JSL - id much prefer being In the position of having to replace these 3 than for example full back scrum half and hooker...

I hope that McMeekan tries his hand at Union and we can get a nice fee for him. I'd rather him not go to a rival. Am I right in thinking if he does come back to league from union, he wouldn't count on the cap?

Re: Evalds
Absolutely delighted if the Evalds deal turns out to be true . Presume the one year deal will be in case the new TV deal ( for 22 and onwards)is worth a l lot less than the present one and we are then not left with a top players we can't afford.
Once we know where we are financially I would expect Evalds will have another deal tabled.

Re: Evalds
Maybe Rankin will go to salford filling Evalds spot.
Re: Evalds
Paul King a director at Salford has said the club had made him a fantastic offer to stay at Salford but he chose to go to Cas so I presume he's got his long term future sortedSharlotiger wrote: ↑11 May 2020, 11:52 Absolutely delighted if the Evalds deal turns out to be true . He (Paul King) doesn’t actually say “he chose to go to Cas”. What he does say is “We made him a fantastic offer he has chosen to go elsewhere for 2021, disappoining, but thats sport. We move on”.tigerfeat wrote: ↑11 May 2020, 12:52Paul King a director at Salford has said the club had made him a fantastic offer to stay at Salford but he chose to go to Cas so I presume he's got his long term future sortedSharlotiger wrote: ↑11 May 2020, 11:52 Absolutely delighted if the Evalds deal turns out to be true . Apologies to Mr King I was looking at something else on Twitter thought he'd said that as wellFumper27 wrote: ↑11 May 2020, 13:18He (Paul King) doesn’t actually say “he chose to go to Cas”. Re: Evalds
I wonder how the salford fans will receive him when they get back playing.
Could be tasty.

Re: Evalds
More than happy with Evalds signing for us next season.
In regards to Rankin, is he not on a swap deal with Joe Wardle at Huddersfield.
So in theory Wardle is still on the books of Castleford unsure on the length of his contract.

Re: Evalds
Both Rankin and Wardle’s contracts expire at the end of 2020 season, so they’ll both be free agents at the end of the current season.
Re: Evalds
Thanks for the update Fumper
Re: Evalds
Absolute quality signing for Cas. I always hoped we would sign him and I know Wells has been talking him up on Sky for years.
Top work by the club to bring him to Cas. You just know he will flourish under DP, DO and RS

Re: Evalds
at the meet the directors evening jon wells said "3 positive signings have been identified" i'm assuming this is the first.Mucky1978 wrote: ↑11 May 2020, 10:25Hope we haven’t spent all the cap on him.nottinghamtiger wrote: ↑11 May 2020, 10:12Apparently it's a salary-cap based decision, though that seems a bit strange given that we are likely to be losing some players at the end of the year.
Either that or that element of the rumour is wrong and it's a longer deal.
Still need a prop and another centre.
