Relegation ?.
I thought that would grab your attention.
I cam across an old Insurance letter the other day and I had written the then current Cas side on it.
Was this the side that was relegated around 2005 ?.
it was
Gibson
Pryce
Johnson
Maloney
Rogers
Orr
Lennon
Lynch
Godwin
Jackson
Thackery
Harland
Hudson

Re: Relegation ?.
There are some players I liked amongst that side - some who went well prior.
Forwards were better than the backs mind you.

2004 side
Re: Relegation ?.
Knuckles Greenhill must have been on the bench that week to provide a bit of impact.
Re: Relegation ?.
We were getting so many things wrong with players comings and goings around that time it was no surprise we ended up getting relegated
Letting Wayne Bartrim go, not signing Chris Hill when we had the chance there were a number of other crackpot desicions in that era

Re: Relegation ?.
No overseas players in this line up either- depending on Mark Lennon who I think was capped by Wales.
Was this about the time we drafted in a lumberjack of a prop called Mark something who was an Aussie from London Broncos who added a bit of fight to the struggle

Re: Relegation ?.
Mark Tookey. We signed him from NZ Warriors and he went to London after we were relegated.North Leeds Tiger wrote: ↑07 Apr 2020, 18:34 No overseas players in this line up either- depending on Mark Lennon who I think was capped by Wales.

Chris Hill came much later mate, he didn’t debut for Leigh until 2005, signed for Wire around 2012tigerfeat wrote: ↑07 Apr 2020, 18:05 We were getting so many things wrong with players comings and goings around that time it was no surprise we ended up getting relegated

Yes your right mate I always remember someone who used to advise Richard Wright on players telling me hed been to watch Chris Hill a few times and tried to convince RW he would be a good signing must have been around 2010 that happened

We signed greenhill and Sean Ryan from Hull they were both ale carts. Having said that Greenhill and Lynch were the top 2 meter making forwards the year before. Ryan’s crowning glory was laying Rob Burrow out down the lane. We also signed Sherriden who did his shoulder in the cup at hull and never played for us again. I think Ryan was injured a lot too.
Re: Relegation ?.
I'm pretty sure that this was 2003. Notice Andy Johnson in the list and he departed us at the end of 2003. Same with Mark Lennon he wasnt with us in 2004 the year we got relegated.

Re: Relegation ?.
Didn’t we also sign Mellor and Newlove in the centres and both were injured most of the season? Mellor looked OK when he played.
Also Luke Robinson on loan who looked like he was helping Wagga to turn things round but Wigan had an injury crisis and recalled him. Not to mention Ellery Hanley!

Re: Relegation ?.
Didn’t we still have Michael Smith too?
Re: Relegation ?.
Sheridan hardly played same for Newlove the two forwards who looked good at Hull were mainly awful

Was it Motu Tony?
Re: Relegation ?.
Wouldn’t have been relegated with that side if Daryl had the reins and brought in one or two vital players. Miff was playing then too, Mellor ended up excellent on the wing but rubbish in the centre IMO.North Leeds Tiger wrote: ↑07 Apr 2020, 15:33 I thought that would grab your attention.

Motu Tony came over, Daryl would have used him very well.
