I watched the 86 final the other day I know players are a lot fitter these days but there dosnt seem to be the excitement there was then dont know what anybody else thinks
There dosnt seem forwards like B.Johnson in the game no more
The other thing I thought how good was J.Joyner you forget a little well I do

Before my time. I started watching in 2001. Most exciting years for me were the 2 relegation and 2 promotion years. Some great excitement back then. Not all for the right reasons.

I must get myself a cheap DVD player from somewhere - I have that game on DVD and used to love watching it back. I was only 11 but still remember every second of that day and the homecoming. Great memories. I agree, the game did seem more exciting 'pre super league'.

For excitement I don’t think you will ever beat the play off Semi Final against St Helens or the 35-31 win against Wigan around 2015 which gave us the start of Sweet Caroline. I’ve been watching for a very long time and these two carried the most drama for me.

Dean Widders try against Bradford away in about 2011 never fails to make me smile

Was that the game we faked the drop goal and Luke Dorn scored in last minute that's one of my favourite moments too

Was 2014. The year we got to the challenge cup final too. Great year in Powells first full season at Cas.

As a young lad the 86 season was amazing. I had suffered semi final defeats to hull the previous 54 years running, or so it seamed. The quarter final away at the old central park and we won a close game I think 4-8, something like that. Back a couple of weeks later to central park and a tense semi final against Oldham. Was never in doubt.

That final was the most nervous i have ever been as a kid. As underdogs we played so well, only to lose it all in the final min. I couldnt watch as 'Joe Cool' took that final win or lose everything kick. Was a tremendous day out and one I will never forget.

Ben Roberts last second drop goal at home to saints a few seasons ago still sends a tingle through me, even though I know what's going to happen 👊 and every Apple shop or any other laptop outlet I always leave it on as many screens as I can 😁💪🐯 COYF

That’s my best memory too. I was 13 and it only really sank in when big brother said ‘We’re definitely going to Wembley now!’
It had always been one of those things I thought would never happen to us.

I watched the 1982 Challenge Cup semi vs Hull yesterday.

I’d forgotten what a gutsy effort that was. We were decimated with injuries but a little unlucky not to pull off what would have been an incredible win.,

An ageing Malcolm put in a superb stint on one leg.
