That’s my best memory too. I was 13 and it only really sank in when big brother said ‘We’re definitely going to Wembley now!’
It had always been one of those things I thought would never happen to us.

I watched the 1982 Challenge Cup semi vs Hull yesterday.

I’d forgotten what a gutsy effort that was. We were decimated with injuries but a little unlucky not to pull off what would have been an incredible win.,

An ageing Malcolm put in a superb stint on one leg.

Great to see the planned moves in the 1986 final, sure these would still be effective now with the players angled run back towards the play the ball

That performance by Brough tends to get overlooked when people talk about the great players we've had
In one of are most important games he delivered a 10 out of 10 performance

It's a weird moment to stand out so much, one of my favourite moments of the 'recent' past was 2005 final against Whitehaven - specifically Steve Crouch's try.
You watch that line he runs and goes through from a Deon Bird pass, beautiful. Quite a day but that particular moment always comes to mind - just re-watched it!

I’ve just watched the revue of all Cas’s matches of the 2017 season on YouTube. Some of the tries were unbelievable,

i've always said that brough played the most perfect game i've ever seen from a cas player. fair enough it was against 2nd tier opposition but it was 10 out of 10 even though he knew it was his last game for cas.

Don't think anyone was poor, they were played off the park - I remember Carl Sice was cited for biting, came to nothing but didn't matter. Was a great day..... I think I remember!

Great game management from Brough and what a player Awen Guttenbeil was. He was 31 years old in the 2007 Grand Final and could easily have played at Super League level.
Oh for another forward of his calibre to play for us now.
