Saints up next
Saints up next
I cant wait for this one, Saints over the many years have always been an hard nut to crack, its a Sunday KO my preferred match day not on TV , our many armchair supporters those who are well enough and can afford it may venture down to the old girl they may even get the bug again, get sweet Caroline dusted down i fancy us for this one COME ON YE FORD
Re: Saints up next
Agree think there will be a big crowd down and good atmosphere can't see a cas win mesen tho especially if Cootes back and they have the best front row in the comp that's why I think there favourites for the two main trophys
Watching the Wire v Cas match back we weren't as good as I thought watching live were going to have to play a whole lot better to win this one I think

Similar to wire I think saints are there for the taking.

Sadly I feel same.Sharlotiger wrote: ↑08 Mar 2020, 13:12Maybe are but Cas wont be the team to take them. Can't see Saints losing twice in a row.
Our forwards were over ran by Warrington’s.
Saints have a far better pack.
Pray watts is back, foster for Holmes.
Imo still not big enough.
Saints attack from all over the field, we are lucky to put a decent attack on.
Hope I’m wrong. Don’t think there’ll be much in it, our defence is pretty much water tight, needs to be next week.

I would love you I to both be wrong but I can't see it happening.Sharlotiger wrote: ↑08 Mar 2020, 13:12Maybe are but Cas wont be the team to take them. Can't see Saints losing twice in a row.
Too agressive for us up the middle and down the channels which will create too much room for Lomax.
For us to win we will have to go up at least one level from anything we've delivered so far this term. Without Liam in the squad I don't see that happening.
Re: Saints up next
yes, the likelihood is we will be P7 W4 after the Saints game, with one of those wins against rubbing rags Toronto. Maybe just par for the course at best.

Re: Saints up next
Saints rely heavily on their middle unit. Probably their strongest area. Need to fight to get up and play the ball faster. Saints have notoriously got away with slowing the PTB down in recent years.
Also need to produce more testing kicks. They are the masters of obstructing chases "legally" (I think they get away with a lot on this too).
Chance for Richardson to prove a point too. Tough ask but always hopeful we can turn over Saints.

Think we'll get well beat cant see our attack breaking sts defence much and think they will just keep their score gradually ticking over.
I'll guess 28-8 sts

CLASSY CAS FOREVER
Re: Saints up next
Looking forward to the game my heart says Cas. But realistically we've a mountain to climb and I think that summit is out of reach. Hope I'm wrong but don't think so. COYF.

Saints there for the taking but Cas need Watts back for me. Our pack were 2nd best at Warrington and that's what cost us the game and gave Trueman and Richardson next to no time on the ball. Saints pack in my opinion is a lot stronger than that of Warrington. If no Watts would prefer Jesse at 13 and Massey at prop but still see us struggling without Watts.

Re: Saints up next
Come on folks, I know they're a good team and some good points put across, but let's have some confidence in the boys. We can't be going down't lane with a negative thought as I'm sure it'll transfer to the boys on the pitch. So come on let's GET INTO EM COYF
Re: Saints up next
Be a close game but think we get beat. Think bad recruitment will start to effect us next few weeks we needed another top centre and proper full back and another big prop. We have spent money on recruitment but in wrong positions his going to put us mid table.Tigers1926 wrote: ↑08 Mar 2020, 18:16 Come on folks, I know they're a good team and some good points put across, but let's have some confidence in the boys. Re: Saints up next
We play a salary-capped sport. It’s simply not possible to add another centre, another full-back and another prop to the squad we already have. No team has strength in depth in every position - it’s the way the salary-cap works.on side wrote: ↑09 Mar 2020, 00:03Be a close game but think we get beat. I’ve been critical of recruitment and retention in 2018 and 2019, but I’m more positive this year and think we’ve made some astute signings. I do still worry about the full-back spot and don’t think we’ve found the solution there yet.

Re: Saints up next
I’m quietly confident we can win on Sunday
Re: Saints up next
It's a Sunday 3:30 KO down the lane. Let's get down there in numbers and cheer the boy's to a home win against last seasons Hub Cap winners.
Re: Saints up next
This should be our biggest gate so far this season, no TV Sunday afternoon saints fans will travel in more numbers than if it was a midweek match, L cant wait for this one
Re: Saints up next
It certainly should be our biggest crowd of the season. Last year the game was played in March but on a Friday night and it was on Sky. Attracted 8042.
Same time of year, Sunday afternoon, not on Sky (nor is anyone else)and playing the Grand Final winners. Should be over 10,000. There are no excuses!
Be reasonable - do it my way!
Re: Saints up next
Well said bring it on
Re: Saints up next
Should be a great game I think, and having home advantage we have a chance. I’m looking forward to it and I echo what others have said. No excuses this week we need a big turn out and this should be a gate approaching 10 thousand. Hopefully all the armchair/ keyboard warriors will get down and give the lads our support.
