Instead of going for the left footed drop goal he should of passed it out left as Wire had so many meen in middle.

More chance of scoring a try than kicking a DG

No.

Halfbacks were not the problem tonight. McShane had a pretty good game, the 3/4s didn't get the forwards on the front foot unlike every other game this season, the pack were for large parts crap.
Agreed.
I am so impressed with our defence. I feel we had a bit of a tough time with Hicks and a couple of plays did not pay off.

I’m not sure where we go in terms of keeping our composure in games like that. We threw away 6 league points last year with dumb plays when the scores were level with a few minutes to go. Now we’ve done it again - we had two better opportunities to take a drop goal than them (not being able to take one with a full set starting 20m out is inexcusable).

Game management ....panic ...panic absolutely pathetic every time we tried for a drop its so so rushed instead of setting the play having blockers (St.Helens) and the kicker being set ...

I don’t think we would have won by 20 with Luke Gale.
I think we would have one by 1 though.

Yep, Hicks was giving some real home team calls tonight, his sheer incompetence in not stopping the game when Peanut has a clear head injury will likely see him not get a game next week.

Powell just said Millington had to go off at HT because of "an issue he had before", Peanut concussion and Holmes felt something crack...so sub rotations completely messed up so that was a real tough dig.

Trueman was the best player on the pitch, you should try watching the game with your eyes open.

Some absolutely beautiful kicks by both halfbacks, in fact.

Is it me or does Smith literally make zero yards when he carries the ball in.

The thing is we lost yes, but these grinding games like this will help develop our team (particularly the younger guys) and be a real learning curve for the rest of the season, hopefully. The commitment the boys showed tonight to chase everything down was outstanding and I would like to think this will only help them further down the line.

Who decided one up rugby was the way to go tonight...every now and then we do this...it dosent work...when we shipped it wide especially to mcmeeken and shenny we made loads of yards...crap all round tonight...no urgency...Warrington are on par with Toronto we should off taken them apart...instead we looked clueless and bang average

Good effort. Ran out of a bit of energy in the second half so the intensity to keep them in their own end was less.

Rushed play the balls for the drop goals cost us than allowing forwards to set up to protect the halves and stop Wire rushing up.

Richardson should have just taken the tackle for his attempt and set the platform again.

I thought Richardson went okay. His long kicking game was very good and he compensated for the lack of metres our forwards made.
I do think he needs to take more control and become the dominant player in the team. I’d like to see him show that bit of arrogance and swagger and act like he’s the best player on the park.
As for Trueman, he’s got all the quality but he’s still a very young half back and it won’t happen every game.
Both were better than Widdop, who is earning marquee money at Warrington.

On a more positive side, shock horror, I thought Turner did a great job on the wing coming in. Matautia looked pretty good in the first half again in attack. McMeeken also had a decent game too.

Disappointing result but that is all it is. Great effort, solid defence for the most part.

We go again next week - big test particularly since Saints lost.

The only way that Warrington are on a par with Toronto is that they spend up to the salary cap and they have two marquee players.
