Sounds like the great man is struggling.
I wish him well.

If it was going to happen to anyone it was going to be him. The footage of the Wakefield game where he is knocked out and is left to stagger about the field is truly shocking. One of the few improvements in the game is player welfare and I’m sure he would have been forced to retire today if he was getting concussed every other game.

Best wishes to the bloke

It makes you wonder about the long term health of players, when we see how many are suffering from dementia. Ron talks about headgear, but some American research into American Football claims it provides little protection to the brain, because it is the brain constantly hitting the skull from the inside rather than external impact (although that’s obviously not good either).

I met and had a chance to talk to Rambo in 2001 when he was the coach of the touring Aboriginies squad and I was playing for BARLA Yorkshire. His persona on the field was so different to off it, a great knowledge of the game and proud of his time spent at our club.

Keep fighting the good fight Ronnie

Only played a few games for Cas, but quickly became a fans and one of my favourites.

NEVER took a backwards step.
Always gave 100%.

His performance at Wakefield will live me forever.

Best Wishes Ronnie.

It's is often said that someplayuers create an air of excitement in the crowd when they get the ball in hand. I used to feel the same when i saw Ronnie lining someone up for a tackle. Great memories.

All the best fella, take care of yourself.

I remember him absolutely flying out of the line on the last and the kicker simply and elegantly stepped to one side as Ronnie flew passed.
Honest to God, in one second, Ronnie stopped, turned, accelerated to 30mph and BOOM!!! Kicker looking much less smug than he had just a few moments before.
To finish last in the Tour de France, first you must finish.

Absolute top bloke who left nothing out on the field, and would meet an opposing player as fast if not faster head on. We're with you Ronnie, stay strong 💪
