Where are they now....?
I appreciate it when anyone posts something about ex Cas players and what they are doing after their stint with us. Players still don't earn a fortune from the game and have to carry on paying the bills like the rest of us. Always interesting to see how their careers and lives have unfolded.
I stumbled across this earlier in the week. I had no idea that Simon had forged an impressive coaching career. Good to see.
He was never a star in his time at Cas and often overshadowed by bigger names in the media - Singe, Richie Blackmore, Crooksy, Steady, Mike Ford, Tony Kemp, Tawera etc but was a valuable member of what was one of the best teams in our history.

There was a thread last year describing that the club wasn't always great at welcoming and appreciating it's ex-players. Maybe it's time for that to change.

Seen his name a few times and often wondered if it was the same one.SuffolkTiger wrote: ↑23 Feb 2020, 12:37 I appreciate it when anyone posts something about ex Cas players and what they are doing after their stint with us. Re: Where are they now....?
I thought Mal had stopped going down after a fall out a few years back
Reilly's fall out was with Steve Gill.
Fancy that? Caused more problems that be resolved in his time. Thankfully no more.

Chuck would be greater than Joyner, Arthur Atkinson has the gates named after him but nobody alive today will have seen him play.Lofthouse Tiger wrote: ↑23 Feb 2020, 20:39
Probably the biggest 2 legends of the club. Would be difficult to pick 2 bigger ones.
Any suggestions folks?

Here's an interesting one:
Went from flying down Cas's right wing to flying his own wings.

Part of a private collection of historic shirts I believe.

Went back to Australia. He does attend the reunions and there was a photo of him with the rest of the team taken a couple of years ago.

Re: Where are they now....?
Dozens of ex players had fallings out with Steve Gill. I know he barred a fair few of our legends over the years from attending games.Lofthouse Tiger wrote: ↑23 Feb 2020, 20:42 I thought Mal had stopped going down after a fall out a few years back
