Just searched for his highlights on youtube and every single one was him sitting someone on their backside with a shoulder charge or head high shot

In typical Cas fashion this deal will be highjacked by another club #-o

Are we regretting allowing a journalist into a recruitment meeting yet?

I don’t believe that said journalist has revealed anything from his time at Cas....might be wrong though.

Could be just a coincidence. But it is a bit suspicious - less than a week after he published an account of one of our recruitment meetings, we are linked with a specific player.
IF it’s true (and we all know it could all be pure speculation), where else can that information have come from?

And we could have just fed him false info to protect our interests on any real targets we have

His agent...

Or someone has made an educated guess based on who's out of contract in the NRL, it could just as easily be Ese'Ese or Tolman who are also out of contract.

Like the full back will be Shaul based on the way Wells bigs him up on Sky like he did all this seasons signings.

It would seem like a lot of effort to hold a ‘fake’ meeting just to feed misinformation to a journalist though. If we didn’t want him to know our targets, it would have been much easier just not to allow him to be there, rather than put together footage of players we don’t actually want to sign and talk about them as if we do.
Only the club will know if this is the case. If they did discuss Kane Evans when the journalist was there, I doubt they’ll be allowing him (or others) to be at these meetings in the future.

So, if rumours are to be believed, we're after shaul n kane evans. Both will ask for decent money, but, with millo, Moors n Cook, possibly, leaving I'd say those 3 wages would cover those two guys. The possibility of mcmeekin leaving is a big wage to add to the cap for next year also, either, retaining him or replacing him... Let the fun begin.

Aaron Bower is a good journo I presume that's why we let him come and have a look behind the scenes it happened in December as well
Players like Evans who the Nrl clubs are looking to off-load to make cap space will be known to all super league clubs and offered to them it's not like we've discovered a player who we could sign that no other clubs know about

That sounds more likely than the conspiracy theories earlier in the thread. Unlikely that either club or journalist would want to ruin relationships by betraying trust like that.

Bowers is easily the best journo on Twitter, full of facts and doesn't report or publish anything without it being the truth. He quite clearly has the trust of clubs and I can't see him breaking that trust just for a quick story like Kane Evans.

FWIW also, I'd rather us spent a few more quid and get Evalds than Shaul.

Shaul is like a number of todays full-backs good in attack not so good in defense ,Evalds as said a number of times he wants to stay at Salford and i think thats what he will do

I don't see Shaul improving any further than he already is now, Hull fans would gladly see him go. However, with Evalds, there's definitely more to his game that someone like Powell could develop even further. We'll see where Salford are at the end of the year, if they're down the lower end of the table, then surely we'd be an attractive proposition for him. We have an English core that is missing someone of his calibre.

Hardaker didn’t have much of a passing game at Leeds. He’s also not shown evidence of it at Wigan.
At full-back, it’s about running the right lines and having those around you running the right lines to execute the play. The ‘pass’ itself isn’t that difficult - it’s about structure.

It's also about commanding a defensive line
Sweeping up opponents kicks
Safe under the ball in general
Marshalling the wingers
Solid tackling and being smart by using touchline as another way of defending

Not to mention attacking lines etc

Yes. Luke Dorn was the master at those directional aspects. You could hear him barking orders from the terraces.
