Tell you what, Olphers looks some bit of business. Killed them from dummy half and open play tonight.

I’ll be the first to hold my hands up and admit that I was very underwhelmed when we announced the signing of Olpherts, especially on a three year deal. Only 4 games in but I offer him an apology now. Even Phil Clarke said tonight that he’s one of the best signings any club made.

Dreadful first half.

Grateful for the 2 points against a useful WT side.

Main concerns for me tonight:

- Truey's kicking close to the line was woeful
- Shenny looked shot all game & seems to have aged 5 years in the close season
- too much fancy stuff in poor conditions at times instead of buying position & building pressure

On we go.

Coach had some strong words at half time I think sent the boys out about 5 minutes early for second half certainly did the trick
Thought Macca was outstanding again totally different player from last season and Olpherts looks a very good player to me as well
Had to dig deep I thought to get on top but good win for Cas in end

Terrible weather tonight. Mata'utia , Olpherts and McShane the top 3 guys for me tonight. Second half was good. However, averaging just below 20 points per game is a concern. As was our defence in the first half. Still seem to take a bit of time to get going in games, which other teams will be looking forward to.

Overall I'm happy beating a team who ran over Warrington last week.

Shape too flat in the first half, much better attacking shape in the second half.

Clare and olpherts great games, both took tries well but both ran in the ball really well, especially olpherts

And Clare had the safest hands on the pitch considering the amount of kicks that went his way

Macca looks to be rejuvinated, amazing what having two half backs on the pitch does lol

What gate should we expect for this local derby?

Clare, Olpherts, Macca and Peanut the pick of the bunch tonight. Rest of, Clunky and can do better. 3 from 4, we'll settle for that with a mix and match of players yet to be introduced into the fray. Well done Powelly and co and I include Wellsy in that.
I was already looking forward to the 2021 season recruitment prior to the start of this 2020 season as I think we look as though we are building towards a very exciting team indeed. Just hoping we sort the ground situation out in the meantime though.

Right lads and lasses.
Bit of a game of two halfs so they say.
Wakeys two tries came from our errors.
First rankin had the ball nicked one on one, they score from that set.
Second try came from a silly pass to olpherts who knocked it on, from that scrum they scored.
Looking at a massive positive we only let 2 tries in and nilled them second half. Thought our defence continued from the Wigan game.
Richardson was the better half and that pass for olpherts try was top notice.
To much stop start to get much flow, ref was pedantic and made quite a few wrong decision. Especially the one were Johnstone clashes with his own player and he penalised us. Was right in front of me, blatant wrong decision.

In all the years I’ve gone down lane, first time I’ve seen the coach make the players come out early and do a passing drill. He must have been livid in that changing room at half time, but it worked.

Great result, to say wakey are gonna be up there, nice to put them back in their place.

I thought Navorette coming on was a turning point saw him have one decent game when he was at Wigan learned all there tricks of late hits tho must have demoralised them having a penalty machine come on in a tight game

I’m happy with today, the weather was awful and we played fairly expansive rugby which was a positive for us going forward into the near future.

Always enjoy winning derby games. Forgotten what it feels like losing to them.
Overall thought we were ok in poor conditions.

Wakey came out and had a go on back of last week. Looked like they had a bit of zip but lacked quality half backs. Fifita and Arona are huge misses for them.

For us-
Olpherts, Matautia, Macca, Clare and Rankin all impressed.
However, should be putting a big score up against an average at best side down to 12 men for huge chunks of second half.
But a wins a win and I am gladly lapping it up.

Well, a wins a win.
A real mixed bag.
Haratio Olpherts certainly has an eye for the try line.
Clare starting to make some eat their words. Peanut consistent performances.
Maccas turned the clock back
Thought we were being bossed a bit in tge forwards.
Not the most cohesive performance but three out four and improved points difference.
I'll take that
