team building required if the reserves are going to be competitive, Jacques O Neil head and shoulders above the rest Brad Martin was the best of the other forwards the pick of the backs was Brad Graham saying that the try what Jacob Doyle got was a delight to see

What kind of team did Bradford have out disappointing int it super league reserve side losing to a championship reserve side?

The reserve grade should have been a good idea but surprise surprise it's turning into a bloody farce
Teams are struggling to get a team out players who were stepped up from the under 18s arnt eligible to play I don't think now the academy season as started
Couldn't it one time have things thought through clearly rarther than it start to go belly up after a few weeks

I am a supporter of clubs having reserve teams but as a competition it was always going to struggle whilst ever dual registration exists. DR served a purpose when there were no reserve teams and young/fringe/returning from injury players needed somewhere to get game time, although it hindered the development of players at the receiving club.

However, when all clubs have reserve teams there is no need for DR and the system should have been scrapped when the reserves were introduced. Reserves offer ample opportunity for players to get game time at their own clubs and, without DR, would give purpose to running a reserve team whilst at the same time developing a meaningful competition.

Your correct in all you say but everybody predicted what was going to happen either all clubs commit to a reserve grade or don't bother
But this being the RL or SL it dosnt really matter if the name changes or the people making the decisions change the end result is the same muddled thinking ...no wonder when Eddie Hearn was after taking over he insisted none of the Muppets would have a say and he would make all the desicions

if i have chance i go to watch our young guns plus this year the reserves, i have only watched the reserves once that was away at Bradford, with the recruitment of the reserves i think the club is doing what they have been directed and fielded a team, i always thought when this was muted that teams would struggle to find players to field competitive teams and have to raid the local clubs to make the numbers up, i shall be attending most of the reserve team matches hoping for an improvement

My thought are that as a pro club we should be scouting local amateur sides to bolster our reserve side rather than looking at lower league clubs. This would give opportunities to local lads and maybe unearth some talent that might benefit from pro coaches and help progress de elopment of amateur clubs. Also players would be more enthusiastic to play for their local pro club

Most of the players i know would rather play for there local amateur side with all their mates than just get used as a reserve player with lets face it little or no chance of getting taken on full time.

The NCL dont allow players to play for both.
