Tonight's game
Sorry if this has been asked but why on earth are we playing on a friday night at home if ths game isn't on sky? Surely this has knocked a few thousand off the gate therefore list revenue. Surely reverting back to traditional sunday afternoon would have been better
Re: Tonight's game
I think give the first 21/22 rounds have been confirmed and that dates won’t be changed has actually helped with selling tickets to this game. I am one who would be happy for all games to be moved to Friday nights. That way, if moved, they’re only going to be brought forward 24 hours to the Thursday night.Derbyshiretiger wrote: ↑07 Feb 2020, 12:05 Sorry if this has been asked but why on earth are we playing on a friday night at home if ths game isn't on sky? Re: Tonight's game
Isn't it more to do with the fact that Wigan are on TV on Thursday night next week so cant play with 5 day turnaround.

No club will have those. And given the injury situation an extra couple of days may prove beneficial at this moment in time too!

Re: Tonight's game
The turn around period is one of the main reasons why many clubs play their home fixtures on a Friday. It measn the shortest break is 5 days, Sun-Fri as Clus are allowed to ask for a change if their away game is on a Thursday following a Sunday.

Re: Tonight's game
There will be more there tonight that there will be on Sunday....especially when people saw the weather forecast!!.
Personally, I don't mind Friday night games, as gives you the rest of the weekend (I know this doesn't apply to everyone who work late).
I think there is only us and Wakefield (maybe Hull KR) that play on a Sunday - I stand corrected on this.

It is bonkers that SL allow sides to play at the same time as games are on tv, we as a sport need a good deal for the future and this just drives viewing figures down.

I'm in the same boat as you. Friday games mean a great end to the working week, and then you still have the full weekend to play with. (Ok not everyone has a Monday - Friday job. But for those that do I think it's perfect)Ronnie wrote: ↑07 Feb 2020, 14:55 There will be more there tonight that there will be on Sunday....especially when people saw the weather forecast!!.

Will it really make that much of a difference? Isn't the average viewing figures about 100k. Guess attendance will be about 7k tonight. Even if you said half of them would watch a sky game tonight if cas weren't playing is only about 3.5% of total viewing figures.

Viewing figures 100k on Sky? Surely you’re joking.lidds wrote: ↑07 Feb 2020, 18:17Sharlotiger wrote: ↑07 Feb 2020, 15:21 It is bonkers that SL allow sides to play at the same time as games are on tv, we as a sport need a good deal for the future and this just drives viewing figures down.
