Injury crisis.
This is from a player...
Had meeting yesterday after 9th player broke down in training.
Players voiced concerns regarding 3 peaks challenge at the start of pre season and impact it has had as well as well as standard of training.
Cas without 9 players and seems the camp is extremely unhappy.
People will say this is untrue blah blah blah but it is not....

Re: Injury crisis.
Having done the Yorkshire 3 peaks a few times (took about 10 hours) I doubt much blame can be attributed to that be (unless they did it very quickly). I was sore for 4-5 days afterwards but was fairly unfit having not done any type of training for at least 12 months before (and not much in the 10 years before tbf) so wouldnt expect it to have a massive impact on a pro rl player.
Don't doubt there is a major issue with the general training regime though.

This is 100% true. I even know what player it was that spoke up about it .
Re: Injury crisis.
I heard a conversation mid December... Two first team players.... they were peeved about the amount of contact in training that was going on. I think I mentioned it on here at some point but got shot down.Tigersbarmy wrote: ↑29 Jan 2020, 20:42 This is 100% true. I even know what player it was that spoke up about it .

Re: Injury crisis.
If and I say if a player as spoken up it won’t be long before we find out who as they will be quickly moved on knowing how DP works.
Re: Injury crisis.
If a pro rugby player is complaining the three peak challange is too much they need moving on ...

Re: Injury crisis.
While I'm stating the bleeding obvious something is seriously, seriously wrong with the physical conditioning and training regime at Cas. The British Journal of Sports Medicine published a report which compared the number and type of injuries received by players and whether they were in training or matches, while the survey was carried out on amateur and semi pro teams the experts calculated that fully professional players were twice more likely to be injured in matches and 1 1/2 times more likely to be injured in training. But,and this is the relevant point based on all their statistics the number of training injuries we are having is 70% higher, that's 70% higher than would be expected. That's way past being a problem and on its way to being a scandal.

Most of us can see it mate, when will people at the club realise that somethings not right. If it takes a player to stand up and bring it to their attention, it's a sad state of affairs to be honest. Especially if they are ignored and punished / moved on because they are deemed to have a bad attitude.

I know the feeling mate. Hated these last two. The way the last 3 have ended too and the way pre season has gone in the previous couple of years has been so negative. I have no enthusiasm at all which is really doing my head in. Used be chomping at the bit and so excited in build up.

Re: Injury crisis.
Do my new trick and ignore it all until the squad is announced and/or facts are announced.
While invariably bits will be true, a lot is hocum because some people believe anything they are told. I think a lot is made up just to see how fast or quick it spreads too.
I genuinely believe some people hope we fail just so they can have a whinge and a moan.

People are talking like Powells a numbskull and dosnt now how to train a team he's worked with some of the top coaches in his time I admit there's something wrong with all the injuries were getting in training maybe he's trying to toughen players up and won't back down I don't know

Re: Injury crisis.
The amount of training they do the three peaks is a walk in the park. The dales are pretty much my second home as I'm up there regularly hiking and I can manage to get around it in 7hrs - for a rugby player who should be in peek fitness if good quality trails and quite easy hill climbs have caused a problem then they need to look at their own fitness.

7 hours is good going Matt, quickest I’ve managed is just over 6 and we ran sections of it.Matt wrote: ↑29 Jan 2020, 22:04The amount of training they do the three peaks is a walk in the park. and yes it’s an absolute nonsense for a full time professional athlete to be blaming a days walking in the dales on these injuries
