Should the heading read, Positives and Negatives. I say this because there are more posters on this forum ready to bring the players and coaching staff down, not to mention the great supporters who attend because they are being Positive.

I’ve just a feeling that this injury situation is going to provide a brilliant opportunity for young Jaques and Hepi to really shine, and I believe they will take it with both hands. I too think our halves will be the most exciting in the comp given time. Nice and positive!

It's a Yorkshire thing,
You can't get more positive than that.
Cas not for just 2017 but for life.
Looking forward to punching above our weight yet again.
Anyone who nows me knows that must be a big punch.
Cas for the Cup

In Powell We Trust.

Going into a season missing so many first team players after underwhelming recruitment isn’t a good start.

And I very very much doubt we will be top of SL by Sunday night. Fully expect us to get beaten on Sunday. They’ll be fired up more than we are.

If they beat us they beat us no way on earth should they be fired up more

Hoping we’ve a dynamic half back pairing
Fingers crossed we’ve some new fridges in the bar to make the carlsberg bearable.
I’m likely to save some money on not following the team every week.

After that I’m struggling

I think our recruitment has been better this year. Everyone questioned the signing of Griffin at the time it was announced, but he was far better than any of our back-rowers last year. Likewise, Olpherts looks better than I expected. In Danny Richardson we’ve bought one of the best goal kickers in Super League, and that alone might win some games we would otherwise lose with Mata’utia etc rotating the kicking duties.
I think we’ve got a squad to compete and if we get into the play-offs and have most of the players fit in September/October then we have a shot. But it will require us to be more-or-less injury free and on form and other clubs to be plagued by injury and/or out of form.

Good thread - we need it...!!

In no particular order:

- we travel to Catalans in English type weather
- Magic Weekend is back in Newcastle
- we still have DP at the helm
- we have the squad to compete for top 5
- if managed well, the amount of off contract players in November presents a brilliant opportunity to transform the squad
- we have plenty of players that the top clubs would love to have
- our support is still the envy of many

Let's see how we go.

I thought the effort was great against twp and the two tries were super but the other 79 minutes were dull, dull, dull. This worries me because last season there were extended periods of numbness with ball in hand and I'm hoping cas attempt touse the ball a bit more this time round.
