Pre Season watch

Post by Swagger » 14 Nov 2019, 18:46

Thought I would start a pre season thread now most of the lads are back at it. They like to update their social pages.

Massey needing the bath salts every night by the looks.

I said about a month back that Oli Holmes could make a good captain or vice and from the pictures he still looks like he is a leader. Speaking in front of the lads etc.....

Wonder wheen Trueman will be back. Be nice to gett plenty of time spent with Richardson.

Been told Macca wasn’t very happy as he normally gets the best score on the bleep test every year and apparently George griffin has won the bleep test out of the forwards this year

Yeh watching Griffin he seems a true workhorse. Long minutes and non stop working. Could turn out to be a great pick up from Powell.

Looks like Foster and Junior are training as well which is encouraging. I believe Jesse is on his way back shortly too, so that should put that rumour to bed.

looking forward to the new season it already seems an age since our last match, we have seen nothing of Luke Gale for two seasons the club as done well to sign Richardson in my eyes we could have done no better the lad could rack us up a few points in tight games with his goal kicking alone , with the lads we have released against the ones we have signed we have a better squad than last season with any luck on the injury front we should be nearer the top of the table than the bottom

Jesse and Feki start Monday.
Jessie last season this year along with Millington and Moors.
Be interesting to see who we sign next season with 3 quota spaces free.

Definitely Moors and Milo's last season I've been told, which means that Wells and Co need to be on the look out for their replacements now and not a week before the 2021 season begins!

We are about to lose 3 big players in the space of a year, THEY MUST be replaced with equal or better quality, nothing less will suffice. Hopefully we use the quota spots wisely.

I'm sure we are on the lookout but the game time for both is getting less mainly due to injury. Both are just about bench players, with watts the starting prop. Smith and massey the other using Griffin at 13.

We have space for a barnstorming 2 stint 15 minute each prop.

Agree with heritage, even folks contracted for the 2021 season should be targeted and sounded out; lots of clubs don’t mind cutting the last year if it suits.

It does worry me though, has anyone else got little belief or confidence in Wells finding true gems? Honestly? I so wish we had a slick scouting network down under (maybe we do) made up of trusted sources who’ve played or represented the club before.

I’d be looking for more than 15minute stints from the signings tbh.

Not when the powers that be gave a declining player in his mid 30s a 2 year deal, to 2021

As it stands, we don’t have a non-fed spot available to sign any of them.
Mata’utia, Millington, Sene-Lafeo, Rankin, Moors, Blair and Feki take up the seven spots we are allowed.
