On behalf of my family please accept our sincere thanks for all your kind messages about our Dad, Dennis Hartley. The messages and tributes have been both amazing and emotional to read. We are proud beyond words of Dad. Kind regards, Richard

I do not recall seeing Dennis play as I'd have been very young but it is perhaps a measure of his status that his passing was mentioned by various sports brodcasters over the weekend.

I have the feeling I'd have enjoyed watching him play.

Rest peacefully Big Man.

When I was at boys modern we had a afternoon where we went to train with Cas players I remember we had a practice game and looking up and seeing Big Den and Brian Lockwood coming at me
They took it easy thank goodness, but I remember about four of us trying to tackle Big Den and him draging us from half way line to under posts ha ha
The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have

...........and that the GB team in the last test wore black armbands in honor of Big Dennis. Not very often that happens. I was honored to watch him play for Cas over many seasons and twice at Wembley.

I have the feeling I'd have enjoyed watching him play.

Rest peacefully Big Man.
