Re: 2020 Kit
It’s more to do with the quantity of units required as replicas, and other items such as t-shirts and jackets etc.

It can be in Stade Francais pink with little blue hearts on for me if we have a team that can win the final ...

Re: 2020 Kit
I don't think it is personal to individuals, but it doesn't feel like engaging with a retail, sports brand with a turnover in millions.
Creating a direction takes time and alignment and attention to details. I've put on record before my own personal aspirations when I wrote to Jack during the sea change times, I have no personal axe to grind here, but it is simply not connected end to end at the moment.
I am certain there is an end to end brand agenda bubbling away.

there are a large numbers of fans out there over the age of sixty who are not thought of when buying merchandise younger fans may love the the bright colours that the shop is full off, but there are a lot of the older fans myself included that are more conservative in the colours they would ware, nice tee shirts and jumpers with a Cas badge on i think would sell
Re: 2020 Kit
I agree. the heritage polo shirt from about 2 years ago (all black with a single badge) is an excellent example.

Re: 2020 Kit
The pieces of kit I have liked best (as an over 60 year old) were a grey hoodie which didn’t have the club badge on at all, just the tigers head in black on grey right across the front. Sadly I left it on a train
Similarly a white T-shirt with a large Tiger’s head in colour with the paint slightly running.
Both looked class and the motif sold the club on its own

Not just the older supporters either. I like the team playing in orange and black/white on the field and think it's created a distinctive brand, but I prefer to go with the more conservative polo shirts with no orange!gateman wrote: ↑23 Oct 2019, 10:02 there are a large numbers of fans out there over the age of sixty who are not thought of when buying merchandise younger fans may love the the bright colours that the shop is full off, but there are a lot of the older fans myself included that are more conservative in the colours they would ware, nice tee shirts and jumpers with a Cas badge on i think would sell

Re: 2020 Kit
The club can't ever please everyone and they will go with what sales figures show. Bright colours are always in fashion in summer too usually, with more darker tones in winter.
The club could go dull to please a small minority but then you'll always get another person complaining the club is too dull, they're boring, and not worth the investment since it looks like every other polo shirt you could probably obtain elsewhere. The club then loses out on more money as sales figures drop.
The club do have some non-orange/bright ones on sale, though:

https://www.eliteprosports.co.uk/shop/c ... lo-shirt-7
https://www.eliteprosports.co.uk/shop/c ... lo-shirt-1
I don't see how the club could possibly get more plain/non-bright than these?
For me, the biggest issue with the polo shirt range is the material. I don't like the current range because they feel like replica shirts in style that make you sweaty than more cotton, traditional ones, which feel more breathable.

Re: 2020 Kit
A mainly white shirt with amber & black irregular hoops like the away shirt that got ruined by the Probiz sticker would be an excellent shirt that doesn't clash with the CBR logo.
Alas we will get neon orange again.

Re: 2020 Kit
How about plain black polo with logo and orange trim on on collar and cuffs?
Re: 2020 Kit
Before the advent of Superleague clubs had nicknames rather than appendages to their name. I still have a pennant referring to them as the Glassblowers, and before that magazines calling them the Cougars, an appendage now adopted by Keighley. I did like the amber shirts, although they did turn to a more distinctive yellow rather than amber. I suppose by naming the club as the Tigers, black and orange are the obvious colours, but imagine if Cas had adopted the name of Cougars and wanted the shirts to represent that name, we would have had shirts predominantly brown in colour. Ugh!!!

Re: 2020 Kit
Kits are all to similar these days, especially the ISC ones. I would love us to drop the Tigers and go back to Castleford RFLC with the Castleford badge on, and adopt the black and amber colours back with an old school retro kit. I appreciate this wouldn’t happen as Tigers is a brand and a signature for the club, but shirt sales would certainly rocket compared to the stuff dished out year after year.
Re: 2020 Kit
You beat me to it, I’d love to get rid of the naf ‘tigers’ label and go back to having the Castleford coat of arms on the shirt. One thing our nearest and dearest got right was scrapping the ludicrous ‘Wildcats’ and restoring one of the most traditional names in the sport.heritage1926 wrote: ↑24 Oct 2019, 12:12 Kits are all to similar these days, especially the ISC ones. Re: 2020 Kit
The club does sell merchandise with the towns coat of arms on,and retro replicas in Black & Amber. If there was proof that the club would be run better and the players played better reverting back to the old colours & name then yes, i'd be all for it!
As for Wakefield....well to older supporters "Trinity" may hold some meaning, can't say i've heard many chants involving the word by their fans at recent games against them.
Their new shirt is a tidy design mind, but the Fleur de Lys badge looks tiny and lost compared to the sponsors on it.

Re: 2020 Kit
For me I think the club can maximise both markets traditional and youngsters, a nice core range of polo t shirts etc will cover both then go for a subtle range of hoodies n coats then keep the range of bright bits, I do think they need to do another name on a shirt, this time for magic weekend.
As for a brand I'd like to go over to o'Neill's they have made some really nice kits and apparel in the past
