Re: Attendance trends
Well with the amount of Thursday games last year (Surely having an impact on season ticket sales). Poor on the field product. Loosing our 'star' player, very little in way of exciting signings. Lack of promotion. (Okay not much is happening now, but it's early bird season ticket time. I live in Pontefract and don't think I have seen a single poster or anything about it).
I don't think it's going to get any better !

Re: Attendance trends
It would be interesting to see the number of televised home games for each of those 3 seasons, notwithstanding it’s a terrible downward trend and I’d be interested to hear what motormouth Wells has to say about it as one of his goals was to increase attendances

Re: Attendance trends
Also have to say that the away followings this season have also been utter tosh. Think ones from Saints, Wigan and Wire have been worst I’ve seen in my time following Cas.
Wigan used to fill the Railway End. Lucky if we get a 1,000 now. Fans aren’t travelling because of Thurs night games.

The attendances aren’t itemised afaik so this is purely anecdotal and only your opinionHuddsTigers wrote: ↑13 Oct 2019, 19:01 Also have to say that the away followings this season have also been utter tosh. Think ones from Saints, Wigan and Wire have been worst I’ve seen in my time following Cas.

Re: Attendance trends
Get a entertaining winning team and the fans turn up. Unfortunately I can’t remember coming away from many games over the past 12 months having really enjoyed the game.
Re: Attendance trends
True. But usually the Thursday night game will be the 'bigger' games
Re: Attendance trends
Sunday games have been the ones where there's no Interest.... That's why attendance is low.
Re: Attendance trends
I’m sure the rose tinters will offer a myriad of mitigating factors but non can explain away a 25% drop in attendances over 2 seasons
Re: Attendance trends
Played most of 2018 without a recognised full -back played most of 2019 with only one decent half back - the ground is a tip- stop taking the speccies for granted and the fans we've lost might come back

Re: Attendance trends
That’s because the games against big teams aren’t likely to be on a midweek. If you put Leeds, Wakey, Wigan, Wire, Hull on a Sunday, then Sunday would be the highest day.
Bloated by local derbies too.

with uninspiring signings like Olpherts and Hepi I predict a further decline in 2020

Re: Attendance trends
The statistics say it all. Yes, it is my opinion (as is it is only your opinion and anecdotal to blame it all on Cas too, no doubt) but do you really believe that it is only our fans accounting for a drop?alftupper wrote: ↑13 Oct 2019, 19:04The attendances aren’t itemised afaik so this is purely anecdotal and only your opinionHuddsTigers wrote: ↑13 Oct 2019, 19:01 Also have to say that the away followings this season have also been utter tosh. TV Thurs night games are off putting for both sides. I bet there’s a downward trend by and large across a lot of SL clubs.

Re: Attendance trends
Sunday games were Salford, London and Warrington.
Best attendance 9316 against Wakefield on a Thursday.
Worst attendance 5323 against Warrington on a Friday.
I took all the figures from the Cas website so have no reason to believe they are incorrect.

Re: Attendance trends
Forgetting which day the games are being played, we have been boring to watch for the majority of the season. People want value for money. How many times have we walked away from the ground with a feeling that we’d been entertained? I’d like to wager that there are a lot of season ticket holders that wouldn’t have gone to some of the games that they did if they hadn’t a season ticket so would be paying on the gate. I didn’t miss a home game all season, but only as they were already paid for through the season ticket. I did stop at home for 4 away games, which is unheard of for me, as I couldn’t be bothered travelling not to watch an entertaining team. Even some wins have been a tough watch. London at home felt like it dragged on for hours, it was painful.
Re: Attendance trends
last year our over exposure on TV hurt the crowds big stile we all know fans who take the easy and cheaper option and watch the matches on TV once they get out of the habit they take some dragging back , Wigan who used to travel well like our fans are giving the M62 a miss midweek , our midweek fixture V Hull i counted three buses on Weldon RD if this fixture had been on Sunday their away support would have increased dramatic, i hope the appearance money a team gets when on TV reflects the drop in gate revenue
