He was at day 1 of pre-season (see attached pic)
That's good news, no more meddling. A settled squad ready to train.

It’s just the sort of signing we’d make if Ellis is leaving.
Younger and more versatile, yet behind Richardson and Trueman in the halves.
I do think he might make a decent full-back given the right systems and coaching - Powell might be the one to unlock his obvious, but so far unfulfilled, potential.

We'll be fine without him and personally I'd rather sign a full back and use Mata'utia and Rankin as cover in the halves.

I would like a specialist fullback but apart from Gigot I can't see any available at the moment. Jarrod Summat just became available, that's surely an improvement on Ellis and can cover fullback. I have seen rumours on social media of Brierley as well. Stupid quota spot ](*,) makes the latter sound more viable.

I like the thought of Brierley to fullback but that makes a mockery of having rankin and peanut spares and on quota.

We need another halfback to replace Ellis if he goes. Personally I'd want a fee for Ellis, its getting late in the day to bring someone in and teach them the systems to start the season if we have an injury.

Mautautia was signed as the new full back Rankin was swopped for Wardle most people thought Mautautia and Wardle were sound signings at the time

i must agree Wardle in the matchs played for us never showed any form , Mautautia can fill in when required in a few positions i think he as gone OK you always need players like him as the season goes on, Jamie always a tad slow for me best of luck to him if he does move on

Peanut plays better at centre imo. He'd have to fight Shenny n Blair for it though, Wardle, is best at full back no pace but better link play.

I like Mata’utia at right centre. Let’s not forget it’s where he played almost every game in the NRL, and certainly where he played throughout 2016 and 2017.
It was only when he moved to Leigh that they decided he should play at full-back, and that seemed to then be his “assumed” position when he joined us. We seemed to make a decision about where he was going to play based on a handful of appearances for a lower-league teams at full-back rather than his 75+ NRL appearances mostly at centre (okay we needed a short-term fix at full-back when he joined at the back-end of 2018, but it should have been obvious his long-term future was at centre).
For me it’s Blair, Shenton and Mata’utia fighting it out for two centre spots. Personally, I’d play Blair on the left and Shenton or Mata’utia on the right, but I’m not privy to pre-season and I’m sure the coaching staff are trying different combinations and working out the best possible options.

here is hoping Blair hits the ground running the lad did not fulfill expectations good on defence but hardly showed in attack he had 16 games only two trys a preseason may have done the trick but i shall not hold my breath

If we did sign Brierley under any circumstances, I would be amazed.

Never has been Superleague standard and never will be.
Maybe suitable for Toronto.
If so, it's a statement about their chances of any success this year.

It’s certainly time for him to justify the hype (and presumably money) that he brought.
I was sympathetic last year. He came into a team out of form and suffering from injuries, part way through the season. He had no consistency on his outside in terms of his winger and no consistency on the inside either with a variety of half back and second rowers playing on the left. I think he even switched sides himself a few times!

Forget what other teams have got out of him, lack of progression etc it’s what cas can get out of him? He’s probably be twice the player under Powell. Better than Ellis anyway, without been disrespectful
