Re: Greg minikin
Greg was one of our better players however it’s in the pack we need strengthening not the centre/wings where we look well covered. So unless we can move someone else on I don’t see the value in doing a u-turn just because tony Smith doesn’t want him. That’s if there is any truth in it

Re: Greg minikin
This season has shown he is not a centre. Even if he was, we already have Shenton, Blair and Mata'utia who can play there.
We don't need him as a winger - we have Eden and Feki (with Clare and Olpherts as back-up).
I can see why Smith doesn't want him though - they have Linnett and Kenny-Dowell in the centres for next year.

Re: Greg minikin
Going back to York would be a good career move for him. They are building a team ready for a push at Super League. If Toronto do go up this year, it's anyone's game next season to come up and York have a damn fine chance.
Re: Greg minikin
Would be over the moon with this if true
Re: Greg minikin
They would need to sign a new team from the one that played featherstoneheritage1926 wrote: ↑04 Oct 2019, 15:25 Going back to York would be a good career move for him. Re: Greg minikin
Is he waiting to see if featherstone get promoted? If they do theres maybe a couple that could go that way.

Re: Greg minikin
I would leave Greg where he is I like him there's a few I would get rid of before him. But I can't mention names because there would only be enough players left to play seven a side.
Re: Greg minikin
over recent games Minikin looked the best centre in a CAS shirt

Re: Greg minikin
I'm sure I read an interview that said Linnett was going in the 2nd row next year. I like Greg Minikin. For the right contract, I think he adds to our squad and still has huge potential to fulfilnottinghamtiger wrote: ↑04 Oct 2019, 15:00 This season has shown he is not a centre. Re: Greg minikin
Certainly improved as the season went on. Feels like a wasted spot though unless we're looking to move someone else on either in the backs or back row.
In the spirit of the final Blackadder episode - Goooodbyeee!
Re: Greg minikin
Wasn't Minikin signed on as eventually shentons replacement?
I would keep him. Competition for places is always good. Shenton likely to only be around another year or 2

Re: Greg minikin
The guy wanted more money than Cas thought he was worth, to leave was Gregs choice, maybe chasing the big money as back fired on him if there is any truth in HKR now not wanting him.

Re: Greg minikin
Said he was not prepared to take the abuse coming from the terraces and social media early in season. I have to say it is a problem in todays society, and no one will convince me and others, because he is a professional that he should be able to take the abuse thrown his way.Sharlotiger wrote: ↑05 Oct 2019, 12:35 The guy wanted more money than Cas thought he was worth, to leave was Gregs choice, maybe chasing the big money as back fired on him if there is any truth in HKR now not wanting him.
Re: Greg minikin
oh dear, the snowflake generation... I wasn’t aware of any abuse specifically targeting him on match day, nothing out of the ordinary anyway. If he’d experienced anything on the scale of abuse that used to rain down upon John Kear or Terry Richardson in the 70’s he’d be suing the club for his hurt feelingsfast hands wrote: ↑05 Oct 2019, 13:49Said he was not prepared to take the abuse coming from the terraces and social media early in season. Re: Greg minikin
I can’t say I heard much being said to Greg but more recently some of the base Blair got from our fans was a poor showing. Some of us like to act all high and mighty but I believe we have a real problem with our fan base. Wether the abuse is directed at our players or more commonly th ref. People are going to the rugby to complain about something rather than watch a competitive game. Only happy if we win to nil and anything else either isn’t good enough or the refs fault. Just some of my observations having been in two stands over the last few years.
Re: Greg minikin
If he dosen't like the abuse from some of the fans he has jumped out of the frying pan, into the fire, and it seems he has a new coach who doesn't thing he fits into his plans for the season
