Richie Owen was a very good player -prospect till he badly broke his leg on a frost bound pitch
He was a great prospect - could have gone on to have a very good career in SL and maybe international. Unfortunately he didn't seem to recover, mentally, from the injury. He seemed to lose all confidence. Shame how things turned out for Richie.
Richard suffered a very serious leg injury, which didn't heal as well as it should have. He was in great pain at times due to inflammation and infection. He had a lot of ongoing treatment. This definitely had an impact on how he performed.
Such a shame, pre injury he was rightly being tipped as a potential GB fullback.

He was a shoe in for full back for many years. A real pity but that's sport.
