Jack of all trades master of non. Great value as a utility player but you don’t need many of those and we already have better in Rankin and Matautia

Re: Gale
Was just a thought. I dont think he went overly bad for us in his time here. Still fairly young and has had some decent games for Wakefield. Think he may end up at Huddersfield still especially if we get Rankin full time.
Re: Gale
Think Hampshire will end up in championship at 1 of top teams they will probably offer him more than wakey have, dont see many SL sides been interested.

Re: Gale
By all accounts the offer Wakefield made was in the region of 80k. Only Toronto could offer that kind of money and they should be promoted
Re: Gale
I’ve heard from a WT supporter mate of mine who says he was offered £90,000 over 3 seasons!!! No wonder he is leaving if that is true.braytontiger wrote: ↑20 Sep 2019, 19:04By all accounts the offer Wakefield made was in the region of 80k. Re: Gale
Weird how different numbers get banded about. I was talking to his uncle a few weeks ago who told me that he doubted Ryan would be at Wakey next season as the numbers were too far apart. His numbers were that Wakey offered 45k a year for 3 years and Ryan wanted 65k per year for 3 years. So, a 60k difference over the contract period. Personally I don’t think 65k is out of the way so doubt there’s much truth in it, unless they are paying Atkins over the odds?
Re: Gale
Whatever the figure is, for arguments sake 50k a year on Ryan Hampshire is 50k less you could spend on a much much better player.

Re: Luke Gale
He'll finish his road to recovery with the Leeds physics. Don't think he ait going cos I know he is.
Re: Luke Gale
oldest news there is... No one cares now. He's not gonna be half the player he was 2 year ago, agar, won't be able to coach him the way our 3 coaches did...good business to get rid of his massive wage bill.
Free up some cap space and use it wisely.
what doesn't kill me simply makes me...stranger.

This. It’s becoming embarrassing that it’s not yet been announced.
Re: Luke Gale
One thing that puzzles me if Leeds have paid 150 grand out is why not get someone out of contract there's one or two available in the nrl rarther than pay all that for someone who's coming off the back of a serious injury having hardly played the season before

Re: Luke Gale
Because Gale is club-trained by Leeds, they will be able to name his as one of next year’s marquee players and only count 75k of his salary on the cap, regardless of what they actually pay him.
Any other half and they would need to count all their salary on the cap, unless they are on 150k plus.
Re: Luke Gale
Oh right I didn't know that thought there must be something else to it
I'm 50 -50 how he could go there have to wait and see this time next season who's made the right call

Re: Luke Gale
Because theyre absolutely desperate to get back to the top end of the table and are panic buying rather than developing their own which ultimately was what got them their big period of success
