Re: Gale
I wouldn't of thought so. He want's first team rugby, not something we can offer him.
Re: Gale
Didn't Powell like to play him on the wing
Wouldn't surprise me at all if we were interested in him

Re: Gale
I have heard the same too; a third party has unexpectedly joined the party after discussions around their roster and the fact Gale is seemingly available.
I hear they've offered significantly more for Luke so we had a duty to let him know as it's a good deal all around.
That's as much as I know

Re: Gale
Players slowing down sometimes improves their game or at least adds to it, remember Mal Reilly, he could beat a man stood still near the end of his career, not saying that Gale is comparable to Mal but that bit more time allows great players to see more optionsCasRus wrote: ↑24 Sep 2019, 13:29To be honest, Gale is a great player but I think we may have seen the best from him and it would be all downhill from here as he will be slowing up as father time comes calling.
If it's true about Richardson coming, then I think this will be a much better option than keeping Gale and have the money to get him as he looks to me like a future crackerjack and operating with Trueman and getting a great understanding in time with him may prove to be a "Hardisty and Hepworth" of old and could be the making of Cas when you also consider Watts/Feki and a few others that has the potential to make a great and fantastic side (so long as we can keep them together which is always the worry when money comes calling!).
Oh its you "spit"
Re: Gale
Surely at this stage Gale won't change his mind and want to move somewhere else I heard it was a fantastic deal Leeds had put to him

I can’t see it, to be honest.
St Helens have Lomax and Fages.
Wigan - they look like they will play Bevan French at half next year. Regardless, Gale is too similar to Hastings for them to play together. And they’ve replaced a marquee player who counted as 75k on the cap with two marquee players who will count for 300k on the cap (a bit suspicious already if you ask me).
Warrington have Austin and Widdop for next year.
Hull have Sneyd and Kelly.
Other than Leeds, I don’t see another club who could tempt him. Except Toronto, but I don’t think he’d be interested.

Re: Gale
A bidding war would be nice for us, get as much cash as we can for him. However, I can't see KR outbidding Leeds for him.Mysterio wrote: ↑25 Sep 2019, 08:29 I have heard the same too; a third party has unexpectedly joined the party after discussions around their roster and the fact Gale is seemingly available.

Re: Gale
I was told by a Hull fan last week, Leeds offered £500,000 for Connor, but they turned it down. If Hull change their mind or Leeds increase the offer, that would leave Hull with a lot of money to spare

Re: Gale
Toronto could make the bid, they beat us to O'brien and tried for watts. If a deal for the player coming in is in place whatever, we might just come out laughing.

Re: Gale
Luke’s top end of the of the scrum halves in the league, but at 31 and 12 month out of rugby, I’m dumbfounded teams are willing to pay a high price for him. He will be 32 not long in to the 2020 season starting.
Re: Gale
I read that the Toronto centre (Leutele) was the highest paid centre in the world on $800K a year now if they was offering gale 3years of that im sure he'd take it.
CLASSY CAS FOREVER
Re: Gale
Toronto might not even be in super league next season he wanted the move to Leeds and at the last minute hes going to decide nah id rather be at Toronto or Hkr id be amazed if hes thinking along them lines...

Re: Gale
Powell's latest comments in the YEP in written format are interesting to read. To me it sounds as if he knows Leeds have made an offer but it feels like it may be a case that it's been knocked back or we're waiting to see if another offer comes in.
“Luke Gale is contracted to us next year and, as of this moment in time, that’s the way it will remain.”

Re: Gale
He's just being diplomatic and stating a fact, whilst not giving anything away. Until Luke is in Leeds or any other clubs colours, he is at the moment still a Cas player and still has a contract for next season.HuddsTigers wrote: ↑25 Sep 2019, 13:09 Powell's latest comments in the YEP in written format are interesting to read.
