Re: End of season awards 2019
as the title suggests is this the wrong time to have theses awards. i thought we had not reached the end of our season yet. what does this say to the players mentally. or as a club do we not really expect to get to the play offs

Re: End of season awards 2019
I think you are over-thinking. It’s perfectly normal to hold a club award ceremony towards the end of the season, not necessarily after the final game. It will have been booked on a date when the facilities were available.greenhouse wrote: ↑15 Sep 2019, 19:37 as the title suggests is this the wrong time to have theses awards. i thought we had not reached the end of our season yet. what does this say to the players mentally. or as a club do we not really expect to get to the play offs

I'm on the view of shouldn't be done till after the season and tbf as an attitude set if I was a player or coach I would want the team all fresh no drinking this weekend with 1 last big game that could lead to another 3 sessions tops this week since our last dreadful game on Thursday we have a lot to work on in those days

Great idea re immortals
Jon has been watching 502 Fox & scrutinising the Aussie systems.
But, please confirm ;
Liam hasn't been inducted into the immortals has he? Just got their award?

But they are also a good team builder. Players and wives together, mingling with sponsors and fans, brings a feel good atmosphere to everyone. The last thing you want is an awards night, when you're season is over and players are leaving who aren't bothered anymore.betts21 wrote: ↑15 Sep 2019, 22:13 I'm on the view of shouldn't be done till after the season and tbf as an attitude set if I was a player or coach I would want the team all fresh no drinking this weekend with 1 last big game that could lead to another 3 sessions tops this week since our last dreadful game on Thursday we have a lot to work on in those days

Just the award... (From the website... https://www.castlefordtigers.com/article.php?id=6593)
Five men make up the Foundation Castleford Immortals, and they are truly five of the very best to ever play for Cas, those men are:
Arthur Atkinson
Alan Hardisty
Keith Hepworth
Malcom Reilly
John Joyner
Each year at our annual award evening two more Immortals will be added to join our current five and together the group of Castleford Immortals will make their choice for the best player at the Tigers in that year. Whoever the Immortals choose will receive the highly prestigious Immortals Award.

An absolutely tremendous concept. I am very big on this type of thing.Burratha wrote: ↑16 Sep 2019, 08:57Just the award... (From the website... https://www.castlefordtigers.com/article.php?id=6593)

Very well done to all involved. Now for the topic...

If we do get a new ground would be a great concept to build in. IE a star build into the flag on the main walk into the hom end for each immortal.
