Next Week - Wigan Away

Post by Keithy » 05 Sep 2019, 23:32

With a bit of luck Sky will choose Saints v Hull on Thursday night and then we play Wigan on Friday. With a bit more luck Saints beat Hull and we will have 5th place wrapped up before we play as long as we don't loose by 200+ points. Spot on.

Looking at Hull tonight, I can't see them beating a Saints second team.

Saints will play their strongest team at Hull. They have no game after that for two weeks, as they are not in elimination play off. If they put out a reserve team, the first team will not have played for three weeks.

That's the downside to finishing top, you get a week off, when at this stage of the season, you need all the momentum as possible.

Is there any results in rest off other fixtures that will enable us to finish higher then five if beat, Wigan.

We can still finish 2nd. However, it would need Wigan to lose this weekend and us to beat them next week. Would also need Salford and Warrington to lose their last 2. Salford have Leeds & Hull KR and Warrington have Wakey and Leeds. Seems unlikely.

I planned weeks ago to travel up for the Wigan (A) game but wasn't looking forward to it with any excitement. I am now...!!

Friday night, M62 and all that but it would be great to get a good following over there.

There is a faint whiff in the air that we could yet end the season with a bit of a bang....

Could this game be moved to Thursday? There does not appear to be a Friday TV match yet either.
