My only gripe with the ladies team is how they have jumped above the academy this year in terms of the clubs importance. Not there fault I know but the u19s never got a invite to the clubs awards night yet the entire woman’s team did with some of those woman been of a younger age than some of the 19s players.
Like I say it’s not there fault but at no other club would a woman’s team be put before an academy team
In terms of performance. That quite simply isn’t good enough from the club in fact it’s appalling.

The Woman’s Team is a senior side. In terms of importance, in the day and age of being equal, it should be recognised alongside the men’s in terms of parity.

The U19s were also present since they picked up awards? https://castlefordtigers.com/mobile/article.php?id=6587

If it was an U19s Women’s Team, I’d agree. But we are trailblazing for women wanting to play RL and quite frankly, they are the most successful CTRLFC team this season of either sex and deserve to be recognised for it.

You have to also remember the night is as much for about sponsors too, many of which sponsor both men’s and women’s players. We should celebrate all of them, as we want to keep them coming back.

Yes they do that’s not my issue. It wouldn’t have happened at any other club. Clubs like saints,Leeds,Wigan treat there upcoming players with the same regard as the first team players. The same cannot be said of ourselves.

sounds a familiar story with cas teams of late
hope theres a big crowd down sunday, two games to become a champion team...
They all walk around Cas like they are something special I expect them not to win the final.
They are. They came within one game of going a whole league campaign unbeaten. That in itself should be celebrated.
There far from special the times I have seen them half of them can’t catch ball.

Suppose it’s good for a laugh tho.
Out of interest Mucky, what's the highest standard of rugby you've played at (if at all)? I'm assuming that even if you've played open age amateur rugby, that you'll have seen new kids in younger age groups take up the sport and start learning.

The CTRLFC women team are far more advanced in their development than a lot of other sides and that's despite their young age. Give them some credit!
Only played at school
Was more football Sheff Wednesday till I was 18 then played for York City and Harrogate till I stopped playing at 25.

Sorry, added into my previous post, the U19s were there according to the link. Joe Summers picked up awards? Unless he only turned up?

They are certainly above the 19s in terms of public profile and media interest. If they reach the GF they will have been on both BBC and Sky TV, have had regular postings on BBC Sports and Sky Sports websites, a full page article in a national newspaper and record breaking crowds.
Seem justified to me.

Hudds stop losing your objectivity.
It's irrelevant what dizzy heights or not people achieved in their rugby career.
I played out of other desperation three games
I could have been a contender if only l was quicker, more agile. tougher and had more guile.
But l had none.
It does not disqualify me from holding an opinion.
Mucky is a neanderthal at best.
A bigot most definitely.
The facts are these young ladies are the best in the country.
And they play under the Castleford brand.
In my uneducated opinion they are a good team, with some excellent individuals.
So go for it young ladies

Women's sport is going to continue on the up and up that's just the way it is some people might not like it ,or think the coverage there receiving is justified that's fine
Hope this thread is not going to suffer the same fate as Cas tigers Ladies #1 thread

It was a senior awards night for the senior teams. We we be having the same conversation if it was the reserve team that was there rather than the academy?

Some of the comments on here are very disheartening. All blokes too, I bet. No surprises there.

Come on now Beth. You can’t pass judgement on sexist comments then follow that up with one of your own. However, I agree with you and I wouldn’t let the few numpties get to you. I, despite never watching them live, look out for the results of the women’s team and I am proud of all that they’ve achieved in such a short space of time.

They are playing for our club and not getting paid for the privilage.

They've finished the league season top of the pile as well, The ladies side have been one of the bright spots of 2019.
