Re: Cas tigers Ladies
It is a bit of a shame, the venue will not help supporters and players of both sides. Attendance is likely to be very low. Let’s face it crowds are generally low, Cas having best crowds with 1500 being great. Will not show up well on TV with a pretty empty stadium when you would think some crowd atmosphere would help the teams and promotion of the women’s game.
Re: Cas tigers Ladies
i can not see the Saints public flocking to this match, not many of Yorkshire fans look forward to the M62 journey on a Friday night , when or the chiefs at headquarters going to use some common sense or is this too much to ask ??
Re: Cas tigers Ladies
Two grounds spring to mind immediately that could have held this game and would have been far more convenient for both clubs - Dewsbury or Doncaster. Bearing in mind that there will probably be less than 5000 in attendance either would have looked less empty on TV than the TW Stadium.
Re: Cas tigers Ladies
Normally raining tho so would wreck the pitch for the proper players.flood light tiger wrote: ↑09 Oct 2019, 19:23 To me this game should have been at old Trafford before the grand final then a lot more people may have turned up and a great spectical for the game

Do not feed the troll
Re: Cas tigers Ladies
Shame about the venue more to this decision than meets the eye. 2 Yorkshire clubs playing a final in Lancashire. Should have been a post office road. But what do we know we're only supporter's. But tomorrow is another day or is it.

The game is also in Sky Sports Mix (channel 145). Anyone who has Sky but doesn't subscribe to the sports package can get this free.

Re: Cas tigers Ladies
I’m told one of the reasons St. Helens was chosen is because that a number of the players need to be at Manchester airport for a flight straight after the game for the ladies tour.
Not sure on the logistics but with a clear run I’m not sure it would be much difference tbh travelling from Yorkshire

Re: Cas tigers Ladies
Kind of correct, it was due to be Sunday at Leeds, but the players fly Saturday so they brought it forward and headingley isn’t available. They wanted to put it on at a stadium that made it a spectacle, not sure I agree this is the TW, however the TW has some nice corporate facilities so I believe that’s probably the driver.braytontiger wrote: ↑11 Oct 2019, 11:10 I’m told one of the reasons St. Helens was chosen is because that a number of the players need to be at Manchester airport for a flight straight after the game for the ladies tour.

It’s not put me off, I’ll be setting off about 5 hoping to get there with time to spare to grab a bite to eat.

Re: Cas tigers Ladies
If that’s the excuse, it’s pathetic and shows that we really do have muppets running the game.
Anyone with any foresight would have put together the fact that we had a tour coming up with flights this weekend and the fact that it was also Grand Final weekend, with the certainty that a hefty chunk of the tour party would be playing in that match. Absolutely useless.

Re: Cas tigers Ladies
It is a disgrace. The people in charge of the game are totally clueless. It has been the case for years. So short sighted, and to compound that; the attention to detail is woeful. So,so much wrong with the governing body. No wonder the sport is struggling.Tamworth Tiger wrote: ↑11 Oct 2019, 13:49 If that’s the excuse, it’s pathetic and shows that we really do have muppets running the game.
