Reserves Comp Confirmed
15 team Reserve Comp confirmed
11 SL sides including Cas, Bradford, Widnes, Newcastle and Fax.
Assume it means a 28 game season.
Under 18s returns and replaces U19s, which I assume sees all current 18 soon to be 19 year olds and 19 YOs now step up.

I think it's more you mixed Cas in with Bradford, Halifax etc.HuddsTigers wrote:“11 SL sides including Cas” :-k
SL sides minus Catalan with the addition of.... Might have stopped some of the confusion/jokey replies.

Re: Reserves Comp Confirmed
I thought I’d reference Cas to give it a purpose to being in this section. Anyway back to the thread, may give a few players a chance to test themselves against SL players and even get a look at some of those players down the chain too.

Re: Reserves Comp Confirmed
If Wolf Pack achieve promotion does that drop the SL teams to 10?
I applaud the idea if it grows more local talent.
If it was to be combined with new rules on overseas players that might help towards the long term development.

Let's hope they use they brain and play them on Sunday afternoon if first team playing in week might get a thousand down to help fund it

Re: Reserves Comp Confirmed
Should play midweek to stop the disruption of taking players from the community game, the last thing the game needs is for that to be damaged with the re-introduction of the reserves.gateman wrote:i am with you on that, flow wrote:Let's hope they use they brain and play them on Sunday afternoon if first team playing in week might get a thousand down to help fund it
Re: Reserves Comp Confirmed
I think it’s an excellent idea bringing the reserves back, but one slight worry I have with the concept is that dual reg will remain unaffected. So conceivably your best players who aren’t selected for first team could still end up playing for a championship team, which sort of tells me that some clubs in particular Leeds who have close links with Fev, won’t give the reserves comp the respect it deserves or needs to be viable. I would definitely go down and watch our second string play whenever possible, but I won’t go and watch a load of A.N others dragged out of the community game just to make the numbers up. I would like to see a few clubs come out and confirm they won’t be doing dual reg, and that they are fully committed to a proper meaningful reserves competition but I won’t hold my breath on that one.

Re: Reserves Comp Confirmed
I think it’s almost certain it will be played midweek for 2 reasons.
1 it allows clubs to play players that maybe only got 15/20 minutes off the bench over the weekend.it will also mean fringe players are available for the first team the weekend before or after.
2 we don’t have enough officials to run super league, reserves, championship and league 1 over the weekend not to mention the amateur game.
My guess would be tues/weds nights depending on the day of the first team fixture.

Re: Reserves Comp Confirmed
IF the club wants bums on seats Sunday is the way to go, a big worry to me is draining the local clubs of players a lot are finding it hard to find players as it is

Re: Reserves Comp Confirmed
Good idea the new comp just wonder if Hull fc will have enough overseas players to run 2 teams.
