Useless
Re: Useless
Thank god for London. Other than that hard to envisage were a win is coming.
If PM starts at full back and Egodu plays at all next week I give up.
It's a shame Blair will probably only get 2 quality passes all season as he looks decent. Might as well move him to the right tbh, at least Aston will back him up when he looks to offload.

Re: Useless
Well that game was lost between minute 12 and minute 18.
6-2 to 20-2 in the space of 6 minutes.
Six minutes started with conceding penalties on consecutive tackles to give Hull 2 points then kicking the the ball immediately into touch twice, allowing Hull to score another 12 points. We didn’t even have the ball.
At this level, you just can’t do that. That’s not down to injuries, it down to professional players making mistakes even amateurs could avoid.

That’s a massive worry fords.
When I saw the team sheet I thought, hey, I think we could do this tonight.
How wrong I was.

Whilst ever we have players like Egodu, Claire and Minikin on the edges we will struggle. Strengh elsewhere only mitigates tgat so far. Absolutely dominated by the opposing wingers tonight.old cas lass wrote:fords wrote:And everybody on here is banging on about how we will be OK ones bodies come back.Mucky1978 wrote:Ageing squad

Are the others like Watts who have bust a gut all year, getting weary?
For me as I keep stating, we have no creative halves with pace to worry defences. We lack powerful enough three quarters who are physical and pact to get us on front foot and take pressure of pack. And we seem to be missing a Powell style link up full back.
Add to that players shot for confidence and several who are average to decent back ups having to play as first choice then it's a recipe for what we are seeing.

Re: Useless
To be honest I think that is a pretty fair assessment of where we currently are and DP needs to earn his corn and grab the whole squad by the scruff of the neck and shake them up. Until this week I was fairly sure we'd turn the corner but this was an abject performance and tough to take any positives from it,it was lifeless, skill less and often clueless and we couldn't even do the basics.Lets face it some of the material DP is working with isn't the best but a team should be bigger than a sum of its parts and a coaches job is to know the strengths and limitations of his squad and adjust the game plan accordingly.RonnieGibbs'forearm wrote:Were the 4 fit and ready?old cas lass wrote:fords wrote:And everybody on here is banging on about how we will be OK ones bodies come back.Mucky1978 wrote:Ageing squad

If we have a sports psychologist on the books then he should be the busiest bloke in the club this week because we are losing the mental as well as the physical battles,we need an edge from somewhere,a win would breed confidence, and that would start to shift the momentum,we're not going to be world beaters but we are a dam sight better than this and in what in my mind is a season defining game next week we need at least to be a cohesive unit or this season will fade out in a blur of mediocrity

Re: Useless
Think the top 3 are SL standard but aren't accompanied by the SL players we have out injured. I do think Gale could partner Aston, I also think Millo instructs Massey more than Watts. Peanut would have less defence if we had full pack going forward. The bottom 3 can leave tomorrow.Mucky1978 wrote:Clarkson

Re: Useless
The fullback quote is bang on. Peanut just isn’t the answer and he either needs to be at centre or sat in the stands. I’d put Rankin there for the rest of this season.RonnieGibbs'forearm wrote:Were the 4 fit and ready?old cas lass wrote:fords wrote:And everybody on here is banging on about how we will be OK ones bodies come back.Mucky1978 wrote:Ageing squad

And it might be controversial but given he still hasn’t signed up with Wakey i’d look to get Ryan Hampshire back here next season. He’s developed since last time he was here, he is quick, elusive and importantly can join the line and create space for the threequarters. Exactly the type if fullback we need.

If he hasn't dragged that lot in for training already this morning he should make them all sit in the stands on Sunday and watch the Ladies side.
The attacking side to the their game would show up and embarrass last nights effort!

Apart from that period, which lost us the game, nowt in it.nottinghamtiger wrote:Cas have just provided a master-class in how to throw a game away.
Penalty for interference. On the very first tackle afterwards, a penalty for a high shot. Two points to Hull.
That can happen, but a good team makes sure the next defensive set is good. Rather than this, we kick the ball out on the full and it results in another try. That’s bad. And it’s even worse after it happened twice last week. And the defence was god awful, Egodo looks like he’s never played the game before.
Of all the things you make sure when play re-starts, it’s that you don’t make the same mistake. But we do, and kick the ball out on the full AGAIN, leading to another try.
It’s shocking game management. Hull scored 14 points without us even touching the ball.

Hopefully DP has the team in today watching the Bulls Rhinos game. A free lesson from the Bradford part timers how to catch a ball, tackle an opponent, take your chances and show a bit of heart.
