Huddersfield on Thursday

Post by heritage1926 » 08 Apr 2019, 10:08

Looks like we could have McMeekan, Moors, Smith and Rankin back for this one. Some well needed fire power back.

Really hope we push on now, with Wakey next week, we are coming up against2 injury hit teams in space of a week. should be taking full advantage.

Be interesting to see where Powell plays everyone. With Massey likely to be missing we are going to have to find someone to play loose. Also interesting to see if Foster and Minikin get back in or not too presuming they aren’t injured.

Can see Mata’utia going to centre if Rankin is fit. Something like this:

Turner
Minikin/Clare
Mata’utia
Shenton
Eden
Rankin
Trueman
Watts
Milner
Cook
McMeeken
Sene-Lefao
Millington

Clark
Moors
Holmes
Smith

I’d play cook off the bench tbh.
Great impact player when opposition teams get tired.

Possibly but given we haven’t started well, we need to mix it up a little bit and I think having Cook’s strong runs can help us in that regard.

Frees up Millo to be the pivot and set up guy like Massey then, which he’s suited for.

For me
Turner
Minikin
Egodo
Shenton
Eden
Mata’utia
Truman
Watts
Milner
Millington
JSL
McMeekan
Holmes

Rankin
Cook
Moors
Clark

I’d like to see a little faith shown in Egodo after how he finished the game last week.

Turner
Clare
Shenton
Egodo
Eden
Mata’utia
Trueman
Watts
Milner
Millo
Jesse
Mcmeeken
Holmes

Cook
Clark
Smith
Oneill/Moors

Could do with saving 1 or 2 if possible for Easter fixtures

I think we've got to keep the power on and go with the best team available. Saints only rotate the odd one. We need to build some form.

The question is, do we stick with Egodo. I don’t know why, because I was appalled with his defence, but I’d like to see if he’s learned anything; because other areas of his game could be valuable to us.

If your Huddersfield, out of form and injury plagued and see that bench of Moors, Clark, Cook and possibly Holmes, you're going to be frightened to death.

Holmes mcmeeken moors Smith should all be ready to go over the Easter period.
Maybe rest watts and Jesse who have put some right shifts in.
Brink cook on off the bench.
If Rankin is fit to go, but him back in the halfs, matautia Center with minikin and turner at fullback.

Turner to keep his place. Peanut to centre. Meeks right second row. Minikin or clare on the wing.

Hudds might be short of men and confidence but they have pace.

I wonder if Wardle and rankin can play against their owners? That might make the decisions easier.

Watts deserves a rest the lad as put some big shifts in over the recent weeks , Pete looks comfortable at stand off I would leave him there much more to offer than Rankin

Where would you put Rankin if he’s fit to play gateman. Center maybe.

agreed. Cant keep coming back from 20pts down every week. so Egodo has to miss out until he Def improves. I with Hudds and would go with this

Turner
Minikin/Clare
Mata’utia
Shenton
Eden
Rankin
Trueman
Watts
Milner
Cook
McMeeken
Sene-Lefao
Millington

Clark
Moors
Holmes
Smith

That's assuming the said players at the start of this thread are fit to play
