Credit where Credits due.
There are plenty of posts saying what we should and should not do.
It's good to have a cross section of opinion.
I am a Cas Fan so l do have the proverbial tinted specs.
I also remember the drubbings we were on the receiving end of.
Walking to games hoping we wouldn't ship 50 points selling our best players, including Clarke to save the club from going under.
We are a club with a relatively small fan base.
We have dated facilities.
We own our own ground albeit rather delapidated and own a significant amount of money to Ian Fulton.
We don't have an owner throwing big money at the club.
We have not the success of the so called big teams.
In recent years we have become a contender.
Won the League Leaders Sheild played some entertaining and at times champagne rugby.
We have a coaching team who have raised the bar.
We have been dogged by injuries and we are consistently challenging the opposition.
We have a team who are greater than the sum of their parts.
We are a little off attracting some of the big names.
Conversely some have become big names whilst at the club.
There are areas as a business that need to become more professional.
We have players who need to improve and have more belief.
However as we stand at the moment only Saint's and Wire are above us.
Hull, Leeds and Wigan are languishing in the lower reaches of the table.
So credit to Daryl and his Team and the boys who knows what the season may bring.

Re: Credit where Credits due.
What makes me unhappy is that DP has carefully assembled a squad like building a jigsaw, and just when it's about right our key half backs are injured most of the time, which hampers progress. I know that can't be helped, but it is frustrating. Saints have largely avoided this.

Not just injurys the way Powell had got hardaker playing he was a key man
All ifs and buts but we could easily be lining up
Zak
Minikin
Matatautia
Shenny
Eden
Truey
Gale
With the strength in our forwards that team would be favourite to win everything ...least in my book

Bob on that.
So easy to forget the wilderness years. We all expect better things both on and off the grass now and that can only be a good thing.
Important that we all remain positive and realistic. The trophies will come.
I love my club more than I've ever done and am grateful for the DP era. I intend to continue to relish it.

Is this accurate though? If Zak hadn't have done what he did then we wouldn't have signed Mata'utia would we? Agree it would be a great back line thoughtigerfeat wrote:Not just injurys the way Powell had got hardaker playing he was a key man

Not sure we'd of signed Peanut had Zak gone, from what I'm told, we really fought for him and just beat Saints to his signature (they were interested in him before he joined Leigh). Also, I doubt we'd of seen the emergence of Trueman either, he came on against Leeds at Elland Road for Roberts.tigerfeat wrote:Not just injurys the way Powell had got hardaker playing he was a key man

Funny how things can change on the back of one player leaving!

Wasn’t it turner that came on at Elland Road?heritage1926 wrote:Not sure we'd of signed Peanut had Zak gone, from what I'm told, we really fought for him and just beat Saints to his signature (they were interested in him before he joined Leigh). Sure we made a play to re-sign zak after we'd signed matatautia so they could have played together
Trueman would have made it into the first team no matter what he's that good

Re: Credit where Credits due.
Maybe so, but I can’t imagine him of being in DP’s plans for that year, certainly not the amount of games he got. Was close to going out on loan to a Championship team for experience.tigerfeat wrote:Sure we made a play to re-sign zak after we'd signed matatautia so they could have played together

You said I doubt we'd have seen the emergence of trueman ...there was never any danger he would emergeheritage1926 wrote:Maybe so, but I can’t imagine him of being in DP’s plans for that year, certainly not the amount of games he got.
