Yes.

Realistically 22 of them are first teamers.
Two of them already have injuries.
I wouldn’t let a handful of the 22 first team players near the squad to be honest, Wardle, Roberts or Ellis simply not good enough.

How can it be better when we haven’t signed anyone?

Last seasons recruitment was poor. The club then realised and signed 3 players mid season, then done some squad housekeeping which we all thought would make room for new players

It depends on what your “good enough” equates to...does it equate to happy with 4/5th or winning the league?

From getting to challenge cup and grand finals recently we should have pushed on, a few smart recruits and quality we would have been winning major trophies.

However the club decide to recruit on the cheap and be happy with falling short!! Makes you ask the question where the money has gone from the profits we have made!

Four off that list have left since the start of last season, we never replaced any of them.
Two already are out injured already.

We’ve recruited nobody...

And as I mentioned,
Wardle, not interested.
Ellis, was booed off in his last appearance.
Roberts, won’t be seen until late spring when it’s warmer and will then be injured.

The point I’m making is we have a season like last year with injuries and JT will be in the starting line up.

Ahhhh the old injury card.

2017 was the standard and we’ve gone backwards. Settling for top shouldn’t be good enough or acceptable, we achieved that in 2014.

We HAVE signed Peanut and Watts! I am comparing the squads at the start of 2018 and what we have now. We have also seen Trueman and Clark blossom into quality players, and Turner show some real potential that could come good in 2019.
In the off season between 2017 and 2018 Sts signed no-one yet ended up on top of the pile. Moving forward and improving as a squad is not just about new signings.

Would like to see Egodo get a run out, possibly on the wing at 2. Not convinced by Clare in defence, easily overpowered.

Come on now, we already had the space to sign those 2 players if we signed them mid season. Don’t let people pull the wool over your eyes

Quite amazing the last seven people who have joined casforum all have exactly the same point of view on everything now what are the odds on that :-k

Aid....your wasting your time. You give a logical answer and the doom mongers will just regurgitate an old answer....without really giving anything plausible back. There's no wonder this Forum is going down the pan.
Nobody is saying it's all perfect. What some of us are saying is it's not always possible to do what we want as a Club of our size. Bigger crowds will give us more to play with. As would more Corporate money. But we are tied. For a number of reasons. What we can do though, is get behind the team and stop seeing bad in everything. For God's sake....the season hasn't even started yet and people are writing us off. Let's see what happens n put a little trust in the Coaching staff.

Them two are 2018 squad members so should be added to your list. Also QLT.

As for saints, look at the difference in quality, they know how to recruit good players, not trawl players out the championship like we have. They were one lucky penalty away from going to the grand final in 2017. Complete then, we currently aren’t.

We couldn't replace ZH at the time cos we were still paying him and because it happened so late in the season, most players of his ilk were signed up already by other Clubs. The Coaching staff admitted that themselves. The Club tried to cover our star FBs absence in house....but it obviously didn't work out.
