Officially ruled himself out of the job in local York press. Says he is happy at York and excited about new stadium and wants to take them to super league.. That's one down then.....
You mean just like Powell did with the Warrington job 🤔

It's simple for me and my mates who go to the games together. We do not want McDermott after what he said about Castleford Tigers and that to us is what he thinks about the fans too..

Think you need to put what he said into the context of what he was talking about. Ie spreading the game further afield with larger crowds.

I will be genuinely gutted if McDermott gets the job

Thing is I don’t like the bloke but I think Big Mac will earn the respect from the squad and fan base pretty quickly. He’s made comments in the past but we can’t do anything about it so get behind the bloke or go support saints as they win it every year. I remember people moaning about Hardaker when he signed and as soon as he was playing well everyone loved him so It’ll be interesting seeing everyone’s opinions on big mac this time next year.

Whoever the new coach is, I'm confident all Cas fans will get behind him, me included.

Some pills would however be hard to swallow.

McDoughnut would be particularly difficult for me.

I do belive the Cas board have some semblance of intelligence.

Probably not much, but some.
I remember Peter Small

Good post.

I've never been Brian Mac's biggest fan but I think there are worse options out there - McNamara being one and what would be my worst nightmare.

IF BM is the chosen one, he will bring passion & experience. His track record is above decent. He could put a more steely edge to our pack.

Who knows but his appointment wouldn't reduce my passion for the club.

My worry is that it seems like a bit of a Millward appointment.
On paper. a successful coach; in reality, the success was achieved with a team who would have been successful under Frank Spencer.

He made his name with London. Did a great job with limited resources.

Four Grand Final wins.
Two Challenge Cup wins.

That’s four more GF wins and two more Challenge cup wins than us.
