It’s going to be a very nice Blue Xmas and I feel relieved as I will role back on my contingency plans now and which will keep my employees in their jobs so good for the area as is the case for other businesses to remain in situ also.
Shame it didn’t go blue in Cas as that would have got the area moving better but was very close and hopefully bodes well for next time.
Let’s hope our red friends on here will be content enough and I hope BJ will work on the issues that they have as he now has the Northern Heartland Support and that does need repaying for their backing of him finally.

Looking at all the red areas turning blue in working class areas that in some cases have never had a Tory mp I think we can say that Boris is truly uniting the country across all classes

The country has thought like my dear old Grandma used to say..."never thrust a man with a beard"

Make an incredible amount of noise but are few in numbers it would seem. Hopefully the exit poll is accurate and sanity prevails.
For a summary you are bang on Sir!

The left of the Labour Party had its Brexit position bang on in 2017 ie 'respect the referendum'.

Pandying to the 'Peoples Vote' wing of the party (Mandelson, Campbell etc) painted us, in the eyes of the majority of the public at least, as a 'Remain' Party - which anyone who has any knowledge of politics knows that the left has been Anti-EU since the 80's (NUM, RMT were all against the EU).

Corbyn himself is a Euro-sceptic but his closest political ally, McDonnell, got wooed by PM & AC etc to position Labour as a '2nd referendum + remain' party to win the metropolitan vote & it was then turned into policy.

This one policy has been the death knell.

We've been ragged by a Tory Party with no ambition bar a 3 word slogan because we tried to appeal to the spivs in the City rather than our traditional working class support.

That the North has voted for & granted Boris [REMOVED] Johnson a sizeable majority is heartbreaking for me personally as someone whose dad, grandads & great-grandads were miners.

I think its sadly inevitable that the Labour Party will move back to the 'centre', which is actually centre-right - look at the policies proposed in the Labour manifesto, they are largely centrist policies.

If this is the case, I will not be supporting them - just as I didn't in 2005, 2010 or 2015.

at last it seems the ex-mining community’s are moving on. Sedgefield has had its 25,000 majority wiped out.

WF10 your idea of ‘centre ground’ is at odds with my definition and a large number of working class voters

agreed, but I take solace in the fact she is destined to see out her political career as a lowly constituency mp with any ambition she had of high office in tatters. Enjoy!

The Labour manifestos of 2017 & 2019 are considered unremarkable & centrist by a majority of other European countries.

The fact that they were seen as leftist here suggests, to me anyway, that we are predominantly a right wing country.

I'll be spending today looking over the Tory manifesto.

I'll let you know what joys we can look forward to over the next 5 years.

You have been very selective in your comparisons, how about the US where even the Democrat Party is to the right of the Conservatives

and there we have the difference between you and I...

I don’t mind paying for something provided to me by a supplier, what a weird concept! Yes paying for a service rather than having it gifted to you.

Meanwhile the spirit of Margaret Thatcher laughs in the face of those who were willing to fight for their livelihoods and their communities and who now have been well and truly betrayed by their heirs...

The writing on the wall yesterday was reflected by Dianne Abbott with her two left feet !!! Can you have imagined her in any ministerial role !! I don’t think so !!
