Re: Is The Game Any Better
I’ve felt for a long time that the 10 yard rule and multiple interchanges have had a negative impact on the game. The 10 yard rule emphasises using huge forwards as battering rams and 8 interchanges means when said forwards get tired they are simply replaced with a similar type of player. Back in th...

Not Cas related, but, anyone know what the hull fc lad got pele. Can’t see anything on it. https://www.rugby-league.com/article/62479/disciplinary-%7C-operational-rules-tribunal Three games So he can smash a lad laid prone on the ground with a swinging arm to the head and get less than watts. Unbel...

Re: games of yesteryear
Times have changed now though . In yesteryear there was only 1 then 2 subs allowed per game and no interchanges . Once you went off that was it for the rest of the game . Nowadays RL has evolved into a 17 a side game with regular interchanges , allowing players to have a rest and then re-enter the ...

Re: games of yesteryear
our younger fans have been brought up with squad numbers i fail to see what input this as been to the game of rugby league yes hopefully you may sell a few shirts extra but anyone that as never been to a game and does not know our game how can you explain the position of players when your fullback ...

Re: Eden
Given that we are highly unlikely to win anything next year and can’t be relegated on the basis of finishing bottom not only should we not consider re-signing Eden we should sack the entire first team, promote the academy lads and spend the wage money on a big screen, LED advertising boards and some...

Re: IMG Gradings
This most recent club statement is all smoke and mirrors. It predicts our scores with improvements. And says we will move up the ranking. What about improvements at other clubs which is a major factor on our position in the rankings next year. To predict and gamble on us been in the top 12 clubs an...

Re: Grattan Has to go for future of club!
Before making rash judgments on Mark Gratton, I would urge supporters to listen to the interview he has given today on the COYF podcast. Whilst admitting that he mistakenly omitted info from our financial data, the RFL also made mistakes and corrected theirs but didn’t allow us to correct ours befo...

Re: IMG Gradings
The entire process is a farce. If we somehow get upgraded it will be at the expense of a team that won this year’s CC and finished in the playoffs which frankly would be outrageous. Meanwhile the club that was relegated this year whose best ever finish is only 5th, and Toulouse whose only season in ...

Re: LEEDS MAGIC
Irrespective of the quality of the performance we showed some guts, determination and team spirit, epitomised at the end when Bentley was tackled about 20 yards in field and 4 Cas players put him into touch. We aren’t safe from relegation yet but the prospect is a bit further away than it was and th...

Re: O'Brien to Leigh
He played a game n usually missed the next with a HIA i seem to remember a few saying we need to get rid. Hindsight Correct. In fact he seems to have copped far more than his fair share of head injuries over his career not just whilst at Cas & for his long term health he probably should have re...

Re: Miller Head Injury
It’s high time the disciplinary committee were forced to hold a hold a weekly meeting with the press to explain some of these decisions. A couple of weeks ago Westerman got a yellow card followed up with a match ban for a trip which barely made contact yet taking a player’s head off after he’s passe...

Re: Realistic Targets
Why will they all be paying more unless we’re deliberately spending well under the cap? I think it's more a case of we will have to pay a significant amoun4 more than other clubs are willing to pay to sign an 'in demand' player. We must be one of the least attractive propensities for a player based...

Re: [Match Discussion] Salford (A) 20/05/2022
To be fair he a couple of his dodgy decisions went our way. One thing that struck me was after Edwards went down injured & play was stopped Sky never showed a replay of the incident. Now I am not in favour of players feigning injury in the hope that the video ref will look at it, but I can’t rem...

Re: [Match Discussion] Salford (A) 20/05/2022
Edwards was the only forward to come out of the game with any credit & QQ looks the real deal. Hampshire looked like the only player on the pitch with a rugby brain & we need somebody who can read the game & take charge so whilst he was excellent at fb I’d move him into the halves & ...
