Re: Best player of the last decade.

Michael Shenton.
Led the club through a period from relegation candidates to topping the league.
Captained the club to a cup final and grand final.
Consistently one if the best players in the team.

Re: ITS BACK

With all that's at stake couldn't you hope the 12 clubs had decided at one of there meetings to set say 15% -30% and then if one club wanted to deduct less than another it wouldn't threaten a players strike that would have made sense to me But what if by accepting a 15-30% pay cut the thing at stak...

Re: ITS BACK

As FC said above, it is like our tax system where we don't get taxed on the first 12.5k we earn, and 20% for anything between that and whatever it is now- 40k? That’s how I see it too. No deduction up to 30k. Anything between 30k and 50k reduces by 15%. Anything between 50k and 100k reduces by 20%....

Re: ITS BACK

Club asks for supporters not to request refunds for season tickets, whilst players refuse to take staged pay cuts that protect the lowest earners.
It’s not a bigger picture they need to see, it’s what in front of their face.

You’ve said that much it’s hard to decipher between it all. What I do remember is: Evalds will sign next week (not yet happened) They’re crossing the t‘S and dotting the I’s as I type (Not yet happened) I’ll be back on here saying I told you so (you didn’t) Cas are not paying a fee Salford have mov...

Re: How are we going to help the club survive?

Separately, the one issue at the moment and it would be nice for the club to communicate with fans is just what the exact financial situation is that we are staring at. Leeds and Wire saying millions, and clubs saying they will have to use the government loan. Hudgell at KR also spoke quite frankly...

The best way to become rich is to be very rich and then buy a sports team.
They are not investments.

Re: New deals for duo.

Pleased for Clare. He's been a reliable and solid performer over the last 12 months and is good cover. With Feki, Eden and Olpherts he may not get much of a look in but always good to have someone around that knows his role and a local lad to boot. Smith has also been fairly decent since signing. H...

Re: Matty English

Would be a fantastic signing. However, he’s got a long-term contract at Huddersfield. Saints have the money from Thompson’s transfer fee to tempt Huddersfield into selling him, though. English is not on a massive wage with the Giants, £30,000 next season, expecting Giants to let him leave and put m...

Re: Bateman

Burgess and Hastings are their marquee players. If hastings goes, who plays half back with the soon to be retired leuluai. French is playing full back and zak at centre. Move French to stand off and zak to fullback, who plays centre. They'll find a way of sorting it, like inglis playing for peanuts...

Re: Bateman

Bateman confirmed as returning to Wigan on a four-year deal.
Good player, but they’ll be weaker if it means they lose Hastings.

Re: Bateman

It will be interesting to see how he goes under the new rules when he returns from injury. Not doubting his qualities, but he’s one of the scrappiest players around in defence. That’s always been useful before to slow the play down, but unless he can adapt he’s going to give away a lot of set restar...
