Before you start saying he wants to be a first choice, if he had been offered a good enough wage to stop him looking somewhere else which hd wasn't.
What's a "good enough wage" for a back up halfback then?
The salary cap exists. Cas aren't a rich club.

Indeed, their bench might be a little light but the quality of the replacements coming in would be the envy of most Super League clubs, would still make Wire slight favourites but not overwhelmingly so. They'll miss Darryl Clarke no doubt but nowhere near as much as they'd miss their accountancy firm...

Saints fans don't travel in big numbers anyway. Hardly a loss for a few of their forum dwellers to not come. Not that they're wrong about the facilities; I love WR but false dawn after false dawn regarding a new ground has left a sour taste, and if it's not resolved soon, either with a significant u...

For those talking about "unfair advantage" for 3 teams: In the english football league, bundesliga, AFL and - most relevant to us: NRL, home advantage disappears without crowds: https://theconversation.com/as-football-returns-in-empty-stadiums-four-graphs-show-how-home-advantage-disappears-138685 ht...

Yes. Big yes for me. Someone above mentioned Andy Lynch and how he hardly played his final year, but lets not undervalue leadership and experience on the training paddock. If we can squeeze 10-15 games out of millo in a forwards rotation, i think it'll be worth it. I will admit to a huge amount of b...

Given the measures which are still in place and the very gradual easing of those measures to allow people to see their families and go to work etc. albeit keeping a safe distance from others, is it really likely that we'll let players come in to close contact with blood, sweat and saliva from other...

Be nice to win something tho bottled 2 finals so far. Needs to win something soon. You mean like all those other Cas tigers coaches in the last 25 years? Relegated twice, bottom half of the table for most of super leagues history. Powell has never finished below 5th i think, and has Cas' first and ...

What's the thoughts on Minimum wage been cancelled for the young boys? A chance to get their foot in the door or a decision verging exploitation ? it hasn't been cancelled. old rule was that they couldn't include any one in a first team game if they were on less than £15,000. this rule has been dro...

Says Salary cap will go as smaller clubs will need to sell players. Also says he fears the Game will go back part time if TV revenue is recalled or there is no new money next season. He already claims super league players have contacted him for advice as a players union leader looking to get into a...

My friend flew to Australia last year see his son he's 90 ! And the oldest person to ever run a marathon was 106, while there are fresh 18 year olds who couldn't finish a 5K. Not all people are equal and if someone's health means they can't travel then nothing is gained by pointing out that there a...

You're the one who reckons Olpherts is blind in one eye yes and that he'd do nothing at Cas? Eden may well be out for 6 weeks, I don't know, but you're not exactly a credible source at this point. I spoke to him myself you absolute binner !!.... not someone’s brothers, uncles, cousin!!! ME!!! ........

Plenty of people insist Powell has taken Cas as far as he can (a Grand Final, a Cup Final, a League Leaders Shield, consistently challenging for playoff spots). This season is young but with a lot of injuries Cas have taken the 4 points on offer. I still have not had a single answer from the naysaye...

Well it's early in the season, but given that posters here were convinced that he'd be terrible, wasn't good enough, is blind in one eye and has somehow managed to con professional rugby medics about it for years, etc. etc. etc... Then he's started well. Hope he continues to prove those people wrong.
