Re: Half back

Having read a lot on this topic for the last month or two, initially I didn't really have strong thoughts either way. I really would have preferred to have retained Jamie. Obviously Powell has other plans. Recent posts of has beens and never weres have caused me concern. Smith, Brierley and Lilley w...

Re: Jamie Ellis

I hope Turner can apply himself to a position other than full back.

On the rare occasions he played other than that role for us I seriously questioned his attitude and commitment.

His body language was negative, he seemed unhappy and out of his depth.

Re: Jamie Ellis

Looking at the comings and goings in 2019, so far Powell has done what Ive hoped for a season.

The only player who could be described as a probable first 17 squad player is Minikin.

The rest wouldn't be near a starting 17.

He's been ruthless.

Re: friendly's

I didn't see the Widnes Friendly coming.

A bit left field.

Will it be part of a signing from Widnes deal.?

Re: Jamie Ellis

Let's see which, if any Superleague clubs go for Brierley.

Toronto don't want him.

Can't see Wigan, Warrington, St Helens or Hull making a move.

Can't believe for second he's on Powell's wish list for Xmas.

Championship clubs?

Re: Reserve Grade

So true Gateman.

Thursday for most home games will ensure I can't attend .

Think it's the worst possible day for quite a few fans.

Personally, I can't see the logic.
Maybe someone from the club could explain.

Re: Jamie Ellis

Brierley is 28yrs old next March.

I think his 'promising youngster ' and
' needs developing ' days are far behind him.

Are all positive posts on him from family members.?

Re: Jamie Ellis

Brierley failed at Cas first time round.

Seriously, has anyone seen a marked improvement since he left?

Re: Jamie Ellis

If we did sign Brierley under any circumstances, I would be amazed.

Never has been Superleague standard and never will be.
Maybe suitable for Toronto.
If so, it's a statement about their chances of any success this year.

Re: Olpherts

I can't believe some forum comments on this subject.
Don't they realise all new signings undergo a thorough medical.
Give the club some credit.

Also if he does have a sight impairment, it's the worst kept secret in recent Superleague history.

Re: test side

The Bennett / Sinfield combination is very popular with the league hierarchy. Results and popular opinion are worthless. You are either IN or OUT. Can't see anyone like Powell ever being offered the top job. I'd like to be proved wrong, but please don't hold your breath. You'd end up in a mortuary.!...

Re: Reserve Grade

Got to agree with Gateman. If these games are played at times that conflict with Supe League matches, it will affect gates. This is a great opportunity to play most games on Sunday afternoons and build a solid fan base. Watching any Cas team at that time in Summer would be very attractive to me and ...

Re: 2020 Squad

We don't have a Superleague quality Full Back at the club, haven't had one for 2yrs. This is not a position to fudge. Makeshift and 'make does', will always leave a weakness over a seasons duration. Suprisingly , there doesn't seem a willingness at the club to fix it. Turner, Eden, Peanut, Rankin an...

Re: Jamie Ellis

Can't believe the ' Bring back Brierley' sentiment on this forum. He wasn't nearly good enough first time round. He hasn't improved his game in any match I have seen. He's no longer a promising 19yr old. All the clubs he's been to in the Superleague have got rid. For my money, Toronto will move him ...
