A Gloomy Effort

Playing on a pitch covered in a sea of mist and severley lacking the distinct qualities that helped destroy Leeds last week; Cas deserved to lose tonight. It wasn't even a great display from Hull KR, merely a poor poor effort from ourselves. KR did nothing spectacular and looked like an ordinary side who took their chances when they could.

Coming off the back of a terrfic effort last week it was simply a case of either continuing in that dazzling form or suffering from a victory 'hangover' - unfortunately, it was the latter. Cas never looked like showing the same clinical ability as was the case last week, and showed an unproffesional attitude that has often surrounded the club following on from a big scalp.

Sherwin joined Shenton, Korkidas, Dorn and Dixon in putting in a complete opposite display as to the ones against Leeds - in fact, the whole team just weren't good enough. However, the positives that can be taken from tonight is the fact that the lads didn't collapse and give in, when that would have been the easiest thing to do, instead we kept hitting away and managed to grab a deserved consollation that merely avoids a whitewash.

Not only was the performance poor, the weather wasn't great and having to pay £20 to sit in a golf stand with no roof that even the stewards said "wasn't safe" topped it all off. That admission price has to be THE most ridiculous ever charged at a Rugby league ground - you just cannot justify it!

So, not a great way to kick on from last week, and it is a concern as to how we managed to perform in such a poor way. However, the boys put in effort but just didn't get the bounce of the ball or failed to finish off chances that would have been a certain try against the Rhinos. We must now get ready for the Wakey game and deliver to the high standards of our victory last Friday night.
