New Dorn for Luke at Quins

ldornTwenty-six year old Luke Dorn has confirmed his move back to Harlequins for their 2009 campaign.  Luke told the local Guardian, "I was approached by Brian McDermott a fair while ago and he told me I was one of the guys he was really interested in bringing in.  There really was no need for any persuasion - the club has come on leaps and bounds since I was last there."

Luke left Quins back in 2006 after an impressive 45 tries in two seasons.  Commenting on his time at the Jungle Luke said, “This year has obviously been very disappointing at Cas.  We have tried to remain positive but we have lost far too many of our games.  But even so, and I know this might sound strange, I have really enjoyed this year."

“I would not go to a club if I did not think I could make a difference.  The attitude has changed at Quins now and they are no longer happy to just be mid-table." said the Tigers stand-off.

Although we can't help but feel the Cas' need somone as reliable as Dorn in their squad next year, we wish Luke all the best in the future, and hope he will have great memories of being a Tiger for years to come.

Asda Sponsor Academy

Asda_Stores_Asda_Stores_Ltd__6553199Supermarket giant, Asda, will be the 2009 main sponsor for Castlefords junior academy.  The major investment from the company will see their logo emblazoned onto the front of the youngsters shirts, the investment has been described by the club as a "significant" one.

Craig Poskitt, the Tigers commercial manager, said, "This is a tremendous boost for the Tigers with another national firm backing the club. Asda are a household name and we are delighted to have them on board and to have their logo on our Junior Academy kit.
The future of Castleford is going to be built around it's production line of young talent, with the likes of 18-year-old's Joe Westerman and Richard Owen making their mark in Super League this year, and this deal can only help us in bringing more youngsters through the ranks."

Speaking on behalf of Asda, Nigel Price, their operations manager, said, "Our distribution centre is based locally and we have been involved with the Tigers over a number of years in different ways, but we are delighted to sponsor the Junior Academy who represent the future of the club"

Two main sponsors secured in less than a month, firstly a record-breaking sponsorship deal from Diggerland will see them as the first teams main sponsor, and now, Asda, a big hand for Craig is well deserved.
