Tonights downtime

Earlier this evening the server hosting Casforum buckled under the strain from a DDOS attack. The datacenter is trying to isolate the attack but it seems to be taking a while.

A Strong Side for First SL Game

The clash at Craven Park yesterday was missed by five of the Tigers' biggest names, Ryan McGoldrick, Brent Sherwin, Awen Guttenbeil, Liam Higgins and Kirk Dixon, all out due to injuries. Fans will be pleased to know that all of these players, with the exception of Dixon, will be lined up against Catalans on 9th February.
Both Dorn and Clayton took slight knocks yesterday but are expected to be match fit within the next week. This means the Tigers' will be almost full strength for the Catalans clash at The Jungle.

The Tigers' new signing, Adam Fletcher will also be attending his first training session back with us on the 4th February, where his fitness will be assed by Terry and his team. The club's Football Manager, Michael Robinson, assures fans that "although Adam hasn't been playing rugby over the past year, he has been doing some boxing, so we are expecting him to be in good shape."

Hull Handed Win

Hull were the first one's across the line at Craven Park with Stand-Off, Scott Murrell crossing the line just twelve minutes into the game, the twenty-three year-old then went on to convert his own try leaving Cas' trailing by 6 points.
However only eight minutes later, things looked a bit more promising when our number 3, Michael Shenton grounded one over the line, unfortunately this wasn't converted, leaving Cas' 2 points short of the Robins.
An agonizing ten minutes went by before Stuart Donlan went under the sticks to make it 8-6 then a neat conversion from young-lad Joe Westerman made the score 10-6, with no further action, this was the score at half time.

Defeat at Dewsbury

The Tigers' acadamy lads lost in a disappointing clash against Dewsbury Rams. Dewsbury darted over and added their first 4 points just 4 minutes into the match, from then on the Rams just kept flying over the line, adding a further 36 points in the remaining 36 minutes, making it 40-0 at half time, working out at a point a minute. The Rams then added a further 20 points in the second fourty, without a Cas' response. The score at full time, Castleford 0, Dewsbury 60.
Dewsbury played a strong first team, with the likes of Tom Colleran, Bryn Powel and Andy Bostock on at the starting line-up. Dewsbury also debuted Chris Langley, Mark Field and David Rourke. A hard fought game for the Cas' acadamy which to be honest, went the way everyone expected it too.

Adam Fletcher a Tiger Once More

Adam Fletcher has been given a two month trial with the club, the Aussie winger, who played for the Tigers in 2006, will be back in the Jungle as soon as next week.
A longer deal could be on the cards if Adam proves he is up to Superleague pace after spending 2007 out of the game completely. Adam's 2006 debut from the Redcliffe Dolphins was soon followed by another 9 starts and 3 sub appearences and in the 13 games, Adam went over the try line 8 times.
Head coach Terry Matterson said, " I have been looking to add to our back line and Adam did well for us in 2006 and there was talk of him returning for 2007. But he opted against it and I believe that he has been out of the game since then. We want to give him a opportunity to prove himself and if he can meet the standards of Super League then we’ll look to give him the opportunity.”

This ends weeks of speculation from Cas' fans as to who the next signing will be, the answer, if all turns out well, will be Adam Fletcher.
