GMB Back Tigers

GMBThe Tigers long-term shirt sponsor have today continued their support of the club by becoming the clubs 'Community Sponsor.'

GMB Union were outbid for the shirt sponsor for 2009 by local theme-park 'Diggerland' who were said to have paid a 'record amount' for the sponsor.

GMB's regional secretary, Tim Roach, said "Our relations with the Tigers have been excellent over the years and we are very pleased to continue our association. And whilst we have enjoyed our role as main sponsors, we have always said that if the club were to secure an alternative we would be happy to step aside but move into another area. That has now happened and the community sponsorship is an ideal vehicle for us as this is an area that we are very keen to be involved in as it fits in well with our own aims."

Craig Poskitt, the Tigers commercial manager, has continued his fantastic work on securing deals and said, "I am delighted that GMB are continuing to invest in the Tigers. Our partnership with them has been tremendous and they have been excellent pro-active sponsors of the club for a number of years. This is a new area for them and a vital one for the club. Our relationship with the local community is a very important area for us and with the GMB support it can only grow stronger. The GMB logo will continue to be displayed on the Tigers kit."

Cas Clinch Chris

featherThe official site has today confirmed the signing of Chris Feather.  There has been weeks of rumors flying around, and just a day after our story hits the site, the club have released the news.

The 26-year-old Bradford Bull's prop has signed a one year deal with the club   Feather started his professional career at Wakefield before moving to Leeds Rhinos for three seasons, he joined the Bulls in 2006.

Terry Matterson, the Tigers head coach, was very happy with the signing and said, "I am really pleased to have Chris on board, he is the sort of player we have been looking for. He big and strong and very mobile and will give our pack some real strength and stature.  I met Chris briefly four years ago when I was with Canberra. He was on holiday at the time but called in to see Dave Furner, who was a friend of his, and I know that Dave would have liked to have had him on board at the Raiders.  He has had a tough couple of years, and knows that, but he is raring to go and at 26 I feel that his best rugby is ahead of him.”

Eager to get going, Chris told the official site, "I am looking forward to linking up with the Tigers. I have had a couple of steady years with Bradford but been a bit unlucky with injuries, but I’m fully fit now, ready to get stuck into a good pre-season, and looking forward to playing some regular rugby.  I am pleased that Terry has given me this chance, speaking to him he seems really switched on and has signed well for the coming season and I’m sure that the Tigers can go really well.”
