Giving Leeds 2 days extra rest after playing a lower league team? Really? Just so some people can have a Sunday out?

Can’t see that happening at all.

In my view the most probably 4 are:

Salford v Hull KR - Thurs (don't know why but Salford to me is always a pick for TV, probably because it doesn't affect a load of fans)
Bradford v Leeds - Fri - it should be Friday given it's down the road and won't affect attendances, if the RFL have a spine
Hull v Cas - Sat - unless Leeds v Cas gets rearranged this the last day for us and for the RFL to get a decent crowd. If it's a midweek fixture they can probably knock off a good 1000-1500 Cas fans travelling.
Wigan v Wire - Sun - obvious pick for BBC
In the spirit of the final Blackadder episode - Goooodbyeee!

Agree with this, plus Leeds half marathon on the Sunday so be bonkers to stick more traffic into the area when it’s dealing with road closures

This is the RFL we are talking about here, the same people who have organised Magic Weekend in Liverpool at the same time as a Marathon and Half Marathon there. So, Bonkers just about sums them up

I bet the hull and Cas balls never went into the bag and kept in the hand for the pretend draw

Not a fan of these Challenge Cup games on SKY. The nostalgia of the cup for me is BBC and growing up listening to Ray French and the likes.

Can knock a 1,000 off of Cas fans then thanks to the M62 car park and Friday night. Absolute farce that Bradford is Saturday when they're 5 miles apart.

This argument always seems to annoy me for some reason. Football fans seem to go in their thousands regardless of where their team is playing in the country and travel much further, on average, per game, than we have to. Yet, rugby league fans excuse is always evening traffic on the motorways. It's not just our fans, it's the 'norm' across the sport. It's about 45 miles, not Southampton. A lot less than a number of people on here travel to a home game. I get the argument for Thursday night games due to kids having school the next day, but not for Friday night games. Only my opinion and I know a lot won't agree with me, but it's a poor excuse to me.

Couldn’t that be because the BBC get “first pick” when it comes to games??

It is but still silly for me. The RFL should lead on dictating on the games available with the view of getting the best attendances at the games.

It's a cup game. The final is on the Tele in London but we would take thousands and thousands down there. So why not take loads for a 75min drive east.

Think the point was avoiding the M62 on a Friday night Hull not as bad as going over the pennines on a Friday night to Wigan for instance with the crawl through Wigan to the ground your looking at three hours with the risk of lot longer on occasions unless your not working and can set off mid afternoon it's 50-50 wether you make it for the kick off

The sky/bbc viewing ratings are more important than actual attendances.

Never had a problem on the 62 to or from Hull. Always a clear run.

The worse part of a hull v cas game is getting out of the car park at the side of the ground.
Takes an age.

Or their fans screaming and booing every tackle to get a penalty.
