Is Gale's wage covered 100% by an insurance policy? Meaning we are able to use his money to pay someone else through the salary cap dispensation? If so that's a lot of money to get 1 or 2 players to cover the injuries.

Or do we still have to pay Gale's wages but can go over the cap and pay another player?

I assumed an insurance paid his wage if we could get another player in. Could be massively wrong though.

I believe the salary cap dispensation applies whilst the player or players are unable to play or the player sited ie Vale is unavailable.
If Cas believe he could be back July/August how many and of what caliber of player would take such a contract or do we rule Gale out for the season and try for a better quality player are there any available.?
Two potentially tough games and maximum points.
Opportunities for young guns to shine.
Trueman was given the opportunity last season. Wow did he take it.
I unfortunately have not watched anything other than the first team.
So l am speaking without knowledge of capabilities.
I have faith in our coaching staff to make the right decisions.
They have been pretty consistent at delivering the goods thus far.
Let's hope another youngster or two get their chances, it will act as an incentive and may help retention of youngsters.

Gale season
Ellis 6 months
Cook hamstring ?
Holmes shoulder ?
Clark knee ?
Maher ?

Week off next week will help though
Always makes me laugh when Maher is included on our injury list as if it’s a serious hindrance to our chances. The bloke is a chocolate fire guard.
Not one positive comment in how many years? Vastman,?

Castleford Tigers have provided an update on several first team players currently unavailable for selection.

Forward duo Mike McMeeken and Mitch Clark are the latest players to pick up injuries, with Clark ruled out for around eight to 10 weeks with a knee ligament problem sustained in Thursday’s victory over Hull FC at the KCOM Stadium.

McMeeken missed the match following a concussion in the opening round win over Catalans Dragons, and will be further sidelined for a period of six to eight weeks having sustained a hamstring injury in training.

McMeeken and Clark add to a growing injury list with head physio Matty Crowther providing an update to castlefordtigers.com …

Mike McMeeken – “Mike has unfortunately suffered a hamstring tear during his return to play protocols in training. He’s likely to be out for six to eight weeks.”

Mitch Clark – “Mitch sustained an MCL injury in his first tackle of the game on Thursday. He’s been to see the surgeon today and the good news is that he doesn’t require surgery, but he will be out for around eight to 10 weeks.”

Oliver Holmes and Will Maher – “Both of the lads coming back from shoulder injuries are progressing really well. Will should be back in action during early to mid-March and Oliver the start of April.”

Luke Gale – “Luke’s operation was really successful. We’re still looking long-term of course but we’re not putting a timeframe on it.”

Jamie Ellis – “Jamie has had surgery on a microfracture in his knee. On a positive note, it looks a bit better than first expected but he’s still going to be out for around four months.”

Matt Cook – “We’re looking at having Matt back to face London. It was only a low-grade soft tissue injury and it was more of a precaution to pull him out last week, so Matt should be back for the Broncos.”

Kieran Gill – “He’s had a grade two hamstring injury. Kieran is now four weeks post injury and is coming along well. He’s looking at another three to four weeks left.”

The club’s Director of Rugby Jon Wells added: “These are obviously significant injuries to key members of our squad – who are already well underway with their rehab and looking to be back fit and healthy in due course. In the meantime, we will draw on our squad depth and the guys selected to come in will put their best foot forward in continuing our promising start to the 2019 campaign.

“We have the opportunity over the next couple of weeks to go into our next home game against Hull KR three from three if we perform and get the result away at the London Broncos. I know a significant number of you are already planning your trips to Ealing and we look forward to some vocal support at a club that has already upset one team in round one by beating Wakefield.

“Your support is vital for this and the Hull KR game and we are confident that will be rewarded by what is a very composed and confident looking Tigers team at the moment. Enjoy the next couple of weeks and we’ll see you in London and then back at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle soon."

These hamstring injuries have to be a worry. Happening to often.
Surely it cant all be back luck.

Coaches last night made everyone aware that the team is training at a high intensity level. DP said he makes no apologies for that because it’s giving us something extra in games.....hence the superb defence in the opening 2 matches I guess.
Matt Crowther said some of our injuries is just down to bad luck. Mike McMeeken for example, damaged his hamstring on his very last training run in the session.

Whilst ever the game keeps getting quicker and harder, the more players have push their bodies to the limit on and off the field and at some point, something as to give. I wouldn't be surprised if players are dabbling in performance enhancing supplements to aid recovery.

I agree with players having to push themselves more.
But don’t you think it only seems to be our club with loads of hamstring injuries.
Yes other teams have picked up injuries, but we seem to be picking up more then ever.
It’s ok pushing yourselves but if we run out of first team players, results start to drop and fans get frustrated. It’s like a catch 22.

Players can only do so much before the body starts to collapse.

Naive from you then. If cocaine use is rife in SL and lower division players are getting banned for steroid use. Your telling me that SL players aren't doing it? behave.

Just shot your own arguement in the foot.....
Coke isn't performance-enhancing and Cas aren't a lower Division Club.....

It was obvious in the warm up for the Catalans game things had changed and it doesn't surprise me fryston tiger reports that training as increased in intensity that was clear from the first two games the way we defended as tho our lives depended on it something that's being missing from the big games
At the same it self deafeats the object if players are sat in the stand injured because there going too hard in training see how it pans out maybe just bad luck
