Wakey v Cas 2019 Match Up!

Post by Raj Poot Wildcat » 06 Jan 2019, 19:02

Interesting dynamics at play this year. I doubt you'll be surprised to find that I think we might just edge it this year. I think our strength in depth is as good as it's ever been in the SL era. I must say I'm a little surprised to see that you've not strengthened this year especially with Gales injury.

FB Peter Mata'utia/Roberts(Injured?) v Jowitt/Hamps/Reynolds

A close one but I expect Jowitt to be the real deal this season.

Outside Backs. It's well documented that this is by far our strongest part of our game the speed and skill is as good any as team in SL and would probably grace any NRL team. The pundits consensus is no debate.

Half backs. With Gales injury I expect us to edge it although I think Mcshane was awesome last season, I hope we keep the ever impressive Hampshire/Miller combo.

Front Row. Show me any of the Cas front row that would get in our team with exception of Millington? Fifita the best prop in the league, Pauli Pauli got better every game. What impressed me is our shear strength in depth in this department we've added .

Back Row. Probably a score draw but with several players can transition from our deep squad-ed front row into back row should help us edge it.

Number 9. Wood/Randell v who? Surly Mcshane will move to the halfs. Milners filled out to a to back rower now so I'm struggling to see what specialists you have in this position.

It'll be interesting to hear what you guys think of our squad and how we match up. Looking to get some decent bets down this season for us finish above you.

Regards Raj.

Moors, Watts and Millo would all start at prop for your lot

Definitely jealous of you having Tupou, Johnstone though

Brough if he gets his head down will be a huge asset for you too

Ashurst is underrated too imo

Coincidence that we have all these new members coming on stirring the pot and then up pops our 'old friend' Raj?? I don't think so!

Well it's a point of view but you seem to have conveniently missed out our big hitters Pauli Pauli, King and of course Fifita.

Problem is Broughs spent plenty of the last few years with his head down in a pint pot. Type of thing that catches up with you at 35!

And we owned you for years before that sport tends to be cyclical. Past performance is not a precise indicator of future performance, Spot the trend early and clean out the bookies out is my philosophy.

Fair point but he is hardly a marquee signing. If his performance arn't up to scratch he's easily replaced. Thats assuming he will be first choice. I expect us to continue with Hampsh/Miller combo but it's good to have choices.

Still has the best kicking game in the league for me though, and right now we'd kill for that

King is garbage, Fifita is very inconsistent and Pauli played mainly edge rugby against us, only runs at the small halves.

stats from last season
pauli pauli less metres & less tackles than millington, moors, mcmeeken, and watts
hirst less metres & less tackles than millington, moors, mcmeeken, and watts
and of course fatty fita less metres & less tackles than millington, moors, mcmeeken, and watts
suggests to me that millington, moors, mcmeeken, and watts would all walk into your team

No wonder you have been quiet you muppet.

Fifita best prop in sl LMAO at that. What you really meant was who of the wake front row would can have. Answer none.

Back row is that a p*ss take. Cas have the best in SL be far.

9 is a no brainer and no macca won't be at 7

The only area in which your better is centre and wing.

You might have a chance now we have lost Gale for the season

Anybody that wouldn't have Fifita doesn't know much about RL. There is a reason Powell tried signing him a year or two back! Kopczak will also prove to be a very good signing for Wakey given the reduced interchages, i'd have happily signed him. The rest on both sides are much of a muchness bar Watts who is excellent.

I'd take Johnstone, Fifita, and Tupou for definite as first choice players.
Miller for Roberts
And possibly Arona but it's close between him and Adz.
